Topic Dog Boards / Breeding / Pedigree software for Mac
- By CVL Date 04.06.09 19:21 UTC
Just wondering if anyone can recommend a pedigree database type of thing that is compatible with Macs?  I know I've heard a lot of people using Breeder's Assistant, but it only works for PCs... and me and PCs just don't get on :-(

Thanks,

Clare

I dont think there is anything - I looked last year and came to a dead end. I ended up laboriously typing out pedigrees in Microsoft Word (which then went wrong when opened on a PC!!! grrrrr). I can let you have a copy to change if you want - but they arent fantastic - just PM me!!
If you do find anything then please let me know

CVL,

Send a 'PM' to member "Gwen" She is my Apple MAC guru!!
Many a time she's helped me out with my MAC troubles and she's  a breeder so I'm sure she'll have ideas on this.

Hope this helps!

Is there a pedigree datbase where you can print off your own dogs pedigree's for windows or vista ? Have the usual Kc doc's but would like a bigger insite into my dogs background than the five generation ....thanks

Hi,  Just found this thread - not had a lot of time to get onto CD recently.  I couldn't find anything, so just did my own very simple one using the appleworks software, and put a tmeplate for the framework using the drawing option (you can put in a logo, drawing etc if you want) plus all the necessary details to fill in.  It would not suit anyone wanting to be given breeding co efficients, basically only works to save all the laborious typing in again and again, as I just copy and paste after the first time I have had to enter a dogs details, so can move from mating to mating with just a copule of clicks.  I have done 2 template, one for 3/4 generations, which go with pet pups, and has space for pics/photos too, and a 5 gen. one, with only space for the basics.
