My daughter Jenni (jenjen) has just phoned to tell me that she is having car problems. She was driving home from her dad's and pulled out to overtake another car when her engine blew up. Literally  It's now in several bits all over the road (the engine, not the car) and she is badly shaken. She had to call the Police and the Fire Brigade out to help her. She's is ok, and her 2 year old daughter is also fine. In fact I heard Elise running about laughing in the background. I just wish I could get up to help her out, but my car is still in bits. :-(

Sending calming thoughts your way.  Your girls are ok - just focus on that for the moment.  :-)

Gosh that sounds horrible, glad to hear she & her daughter are fine though.  Does she have breakdown cover? Just wondering how she'sll get home!!

My machanic is picking up the car today to take back to his garage, he can't do anything with it though until the insurance inspector has looked at the car. My insurance company isn't sure if it's covered by the insurance or not as it's insured for explosions but not mechanical failure so they need to assertain the cause of the engine exploding before they decide to pay or not.

What is it with my bad luck with cars? I swear they hate me lol

>Does she have breakdown cover?

In this case Blow-up cover would be more appropriate

At least her and the Bab are both fine.  It must have been an awful shock for her tho.

Hope it's all sorted and she's home soon.

Your darling brother was asking if you were going to buy an old 'banger' next time ;-) Or did you want a car that went with a bang?

Glad your both ok though. Do you remember telling me that you didn't want to get into my Passat because you'd had a dream about the piston going through the engine........?????? Wrong car, methinks.........

think you're right there, wrong car. it's such a rare thing to happen too. was finally able to eat again last night without being sick and i've been pigging out since so the shock must be wearing off.
