hi, i was just wondering if someone would tell me where it is you get the puppy packs from. you know the ones they give you when you go to pick up your puppy

For my new owners I made up my own. They had the registration certificate, 5 generation pedigree, copies of health tests results for both parents, photos of both parents, an information sheet giving details about feeding, exercise, training, car travel; dates of worming, flea treatment and vet check; weight of puppy. Also a DVD with most of the photos on that I'd taken since the puppies were born.

Hi there

1/
You have to make up your puppy packs yourself , so if your pups are going to be KC registered the new owners will get a form to filll in for 6 weeks free insurance , change of ownership form and if you want to you can include a 3 or 5 generation pedigree  which is at an additional cost when registering your litter.
2/
You should give the new owner a supply of the food you have been giving the pups ad instructions on how many feeds a day they should be getting , how much and times of their meals, so that ther is no drastic change in their diet.
3/
You should also include details of when they were wormed and when  they are next due for worming and what type of wormer they should use.
4/
Then you can decide yourself what else you want to give the new owner . Perhaps a toy that the pup would like, a piece of bedding that smells of the mother , to reasure the pup in its new home, some training pads and of course some pictures of the pup its siblings and parent. Also a book on the breed that has details on grooming , training etc is very usefull for a new owner.

No's 1 to 3 are essential but no 4 you can decide for yourself whether you want to include these things I would as it shows you are thinking of the pup and its wellbeing etc

Some of the other people on the forum will perhaps give you details on what they include in their packs

If you feed a particular food, some food manufacturers (like for instance Royal Canin, Arden Grange, James Wellbeloved) will let you join their breeders cub and if you place a minimum order of food at least once every 6 months they will send you puppy packs free of charge.

We got some puppy packs from the dog food company we deal with.  In addition we included a puppy collar lead, a couple of new toys (small squeakie and small nylabone) and a couple of toys from the puppy pen that smelled like mum and littermates, the contract, pedigree which I created with a photo of the litter on the front, registration certificate, 6 weeks free insurance from Petplan.  I think there was more.  My buyers joked that I spent more on the puppy packs than they paid for the pups.

That's a great idea, especially when people that are not used to dogs, interpret puppies reactions in a human way.
