My 7 year old rott has a sore on his hock which hasnt been red or nasty and hasnt bothered him, it still isnt bothering him but it is very weird. I just went to check it as it looked a little swollen today and when i pressed on it it oozed some pus, so ok i thought he has a little abcess so i started to clean it out when all of a sudden when i pressed it out popped a load of his hair! I pulled all the hair out with tweezers and thought that was it. i have sinced cleaned it 3 times and everytime i am getting little clusters of his own hair coming out the tiny little hole. i squeeze and clean it until i get clear fluid and then about an hr later i do it again and more hair????
On looking at it again just now the area around the tiny hole is bald and when pulling on the hairs that are there the are just pulling out with ease, it appears somehow that the hairs on his hock are going into his skin if that makes sense as although bald you can see the tip of a hair and if i can pull it with tweezers i can pull it out, the hair going into his leg seems to be causing an infection as the body seems to be seeing it as a foreign object. I would appreciate any ideas or any experiences from anyone. I will be getting him looked at tommorrow but thankfully he is not at all bothered by it and it doesnt even appear sore when i squeeze it....very odd :P
