My dogs are on AG adult but the youngest is fussy about it.
I wonder if the AG premium is more palatable for fussy dogs?
I know that they like RC but judging by the ingredients, it seems a lower quality food than AG. Am i right about that?

I don't know about Royal Canin I'm afraid but I've been feeding AG and am really pleased with it.  Why don't you contact the nutritionist there and maybe they can send you some samples of the premium range?

How are you feeding the AG?  We add abit of milk to all our dogs dinners and never had a problem.  Also a couple of seconds in the microwave brings out the oils which makes it smellier for the dogs.

I have fed Arden Grange in the past and my two did well on it. My eldest was an extremely fussy eater as a pup so I put him on the prestige for a while and he never refused a meal......but, he put on a lot of weight and believe me, I didn't overfeed. My boy can still be fussy and tends to put weight on very very easily but another food that he never refuses and doesn't pile weight on with is Origen - its a very good food too with no grains added what so ever but it is a little on the pricey side.

Thanks a lot. I haven't tried the milk idea, i will give it a go. I've heard about Origen on this forum but never seen it in the shops, i will try and hunt it down and give it a go if the Prestige or Premium AG don't work out.

I got the Premium AG to try, today. The kibble does look very large but we'll give it a go.
Looked a the ingredients in RC and Maize seems to be the main ingredient so we wont be getting that!

I personally feel each dog is different a bit like us.

I have 2 female bullies.  One thrives on Royal Canin and loves it - the RC is Maize / Meat based.  The other is more sensitive to it and after a bit of trial and error, we are now on James Well Belloved which is Rice based (have tried the turkey and lamb), which seems to agree with her much better, firmer stools, less gas and she loves it. 

I bought my food in a local pet shop in a garden centre, they had a policy whereby you can try quite a few of the brands with a full refund policy.  You just have to return it with some in the bag and you are then able to try something new.  They have been really helpful to me, discussing the ingredients and benefits of lots of the ranges.  I've not used AG, but I belive it is very good qulaity.

I did use the Prestige on my fussy girl (now 11 1/2) until she was two.

Thankyou for that. I got a small amount of AG premium and it's going down ok but i have also ordered some Orijen from zooplus. It's very expensive so unless they love it i 'm going back to AG.

I hate to tell you this but I have a fussy eater and she turned her nose up at Orijen! She's a much better eater now that I have a 2nd dog. I feed RC and before the 2nd dog joined the household she picked at it but now she scoffs it all no problem.

I have a very fussy eater as well but he will eat Royal Canin mini sensible which is specially made for fussy dogs they do a sensible for bigger dogs as well, mine have the mini as they are toy poodles. Their main food though is natures menu in tins not pouches which Rusty the fussy one much prefers. I have tried all the usual good quality makes such as Nature diet and natures Harvest and also dried kibble Burns and Arden grange to name but a few but he likes the RC mini sensible best I think mainly because it is a very small sized kibble and also quite a strong smell which obviously appeals to him.

I've recently put mine on RC and it is making their no. two's quite loose.  Think I'll go back to what I used to fee them and it stinks too!

Mine have had both RC and AG......I love the starter puppy food for in whelp bitches and pups they eat it really well.....
I have just purchased the whites premium range and the dogs seem to like that too as their complete meal...quite a new food company and is on special offer at the moment....less poos and smaller...but will go back to RC when I want to mate a bitch....and for the litter....
