This has just been sent to me. Hopefully someone will recognise this thug and he will be prosecuted.

Have passed this link on to my doggie friends.

Oh how I would love to fling him out to sea.
- By suejaw Date 15.05.09 06:03 UTC
Its all going on down here??.. What is up with people in this city???
- By debby1 [gb] Date 15.05.09 07:58 UTC
We also live down South just along the coast from Brighton, the pictures were also in yesterdays Daily Mail there were pictures of this vile man with his car i just hope that with all the cctv cameras around brighton that there were cameras where he parked to be able to trace his number plate though i dont know how much time the police would put into this case.
- By rachelsetters Date 15.05.09 08:03 UTC
fingers crossed they find him - what on earth did he think he was doing?

will cross post
- By Staff [gb] Date 15.05.09 08:11 UTC
I hope they find him and rescue the poor dogs that have ended up with him.  What a cruel, cruel man!
- By ClaireyS Date 15.05.09 09:11 UTC
I bet he thinks the dog enjoys it.  And if they are well fed and have shelter etc then the RSPCA wont be able to do a thing about it.
- By Freds Mum [gb] Date 15.05.09 09:19 UTC
I think they will find this man. It is a good picture and he will be easily recognisbale especially if out and about with his dog.

Oh how i wish a huge wave had come and swept him away from where he was standing, he's have got his just desserts :-) Nasty man.

My dog is not a fan of water. Im sure if he had a go he would love swimming and paddling with his other doggy friends, but not in a million years would i force him to do something he is scared of. my chap managed to get him to dip his feet the other day and that is the first time Fred has willingly got himself wet :-)

Whether the dog in the picture liked swimming or not, chucking him into the water like that is plain stupid and dragging him out in that matter is cruel and unneccesary

I saw this in the newspaper yesterday, it makes me feel so sick, hopefully they will find him and rescue the dogs before any harm (or further harm) is done to them :(
- By rachelsetters Date 15.05.09 10:00 UTC
Enjoyed being swung by its legs Claire?  That's what the witness saw - it said in the report anyway.
- By LJS Date 15.05.09 10:12 UTC
Claire said 'he' thought :-)
- By rachelsetters Date 15.05.09 10:21 UTC
sorry didn't see that !  again rushing reading! but hopefully with the swinging by legs witness something can be done?  hope so!
- By poppity [gb] Date 15.05.09 11:37 UTC
Thank goodness that there are so many cameras about now.Hopefully now this brute will be found and have those poor dogs taken off him and homed with someone who loves and respects them. It's horrible to think what goes on behind closed doors.
- By gembo [gb] Date 15.05.09 11:56 UTC
Ok am I the only one thinking this - why take 2 pictures of it??? I would have gone over to the man & tried to retsrain him until the police arrive or at least made a note of his registration number so the police could track him down.  It's a horrible story but I'm a little angry at the person taking them & then selling them onto the newspaper?! Sceptical maybe but I wonder how much they were paid for that! Either way I hope the man is caught soon.

Local link...

What worries me about this for looking at another angle is that it appears so very close to the groyne, this in itself is dangerous, an undercurrent could sweep a dog and smash it into one of those if you have no idea what the waters doing..It also happened at the weekend on the saturday when it was rather warm, so that part of the seafront would of been very busy..
- By perrodeagua [gb] Date 15.05.09 12:55 UTC
rachelsetters it is actually the RSPCA who stated they he may have thought that his dogs were enjoying being swung into the sea like this, so from that response they will just give him a telling off and tell him to throw them in a different way (sorry being a bit sarcastic then)!
- By ClaireyS Date 15.05.09 13:06 UTC

>I would have gone over to the man & tried to retsrain him

he was described in the sun as a body builder - wouldnt have fancied my chances ;)
- By munrogirl76 Date 15.05.09 13:23 UTC

> why take 2 pictures of it???

Because looking at the size of him he looked rather big to mess with, and if it was going to be something like a court case they would need evidence, if it was to trace him to stop him doing it again and he just disappeared and you had no idea where he lived - you couldn't and he would probably do it again, whereas the picture will aid recognition. :-)
- By Astarte Date 15.05.09 13:27 UTC

thats just awful.

good pictures though so hopefully he'll be identified.
- By Freds Mum [gb] Date 15.05.09 17:38 UTC

> why take 2 pictures of it???

I thought exactly the same in the case recently with the video of the young 12 year old girl kicking the spaniel - why did the filmer not go and stop her, instead of filming for minutes??! but as someone pointed out, sometimes its better to stand back and gain the evidence.
Much like in this case the pictures put together show the story with hard evidence. ONce found he will not be able to back out of what he was doing. Hopefully it wont take long to track this man down, but yes a registration number would have proved helpful.
However, until in this situation no one knows how they would react and i imagine if it were me i'd have bben so shocked and dumbstruck i'd have probably lost the ability for all rational thought & common sense and wouldnt have realised until after what i should have done

:-)

- By Isabel Date 15.05.09 18:45 UTC
They should have his car registration number from those ones.
- By suejaw Date 15.05.09 18:48 UTC
They do, hence why they have blanked out the plates number in the last photo..

Once i get some positive news on this and when i am allowed i will.
- By Moonmaiden Date 17.05.09 08:58 UTC
Caught but he can't understand the fuss & says he hasn't done anything wrong
- By suejaw Date 17.05.09 12:22 UTC
Woohoo..
At least i don't have to worry about passing information on.. The paper has done it...
- By poppity [gb] Date 17.05.09 12:42 UTC

> I'm a little angry at the person taking them & then selling them onto the newspaper?! Sceptical maybe but I wonder how much they were paid for that! Either way I hope the man is caught soon.

Did he sell them,or did he give them to police who had them put in papers to get this man identified? The only value in those pictures is being able to stop the ongoing suffering of 2 dogs.
- By perrodeagua [gb] Date 17.05.09 13:39 UTC
It said that they were given to police, and from a photography site I go on where their photo's have been used in papers they haven't got anything for them.
