Ahhhh! I'm trying to do my tax credit forms and they want my total income for the year 2007-2008 and would you believe it i've got every p60 but that one. I've looked absolutely everywhere but i'm getting this sinking feeling that its not here. Does anyone know if my emloyer is likely to have a copy or record of these details or is there anywhere else i can find them?
Your employer should have a copy of all your details, including your P60, for the past 5 years, I think. It's a long time since I worked in wages so things may have changed.

you can or should be able to find the info on your payslips

(and my boysxx)
Your employer should be able at a minimum to give you on their headed paper a statement of earnings for that tax year.
Containing all the information that the P60 would.
Infact I think this was possibly one of the beginning years that they can now give you a printed copy of the P60, whereas previously
they were not allowed to by the Inland Revenue Rules and Regs.
They legally have to keep records for at least 7 years (when I did payroll as my main job we had 10 years worth of last payroll quarters so I could
pull down that many years worth of P60 information - but we did have lots of storage space).
So ask your payroll dept asap as you've probably got a deadline to achieve for getting your tax credit forms in and there may be others that
are having the same trouble as yourself with finding all your P60's. So the payroll could be getting busy with all the requests if it's a large employer.
It's always appreciated being given as much notice as possible to do the request rather than having an employee getting stroppy and stressed as they want it there and then,
normally falling at the same time as you are running the current payroll for that period.

Are you sure it's 2007-2008 they want? I only had to give 2008-2009.
Its definately 2007-2008, they want the exact earnings from that year and the earnings or estimate for 2008-2009 (which i've got thankfully!) I'm not quite sure why they want that year, just to check my estimate was correct for that year i guess. My employer doesn't have a copy of my p60 but she said she should be able to let me know what my earnings were thankfully! Thanks for all your help, i'm going to make sure a keep all my p60s in a safe place from now on.
