Does anyone know how long it normally take to receive a Stud book Certifiate?
My boy won his stud book number at the end of March and I'm still waiting for it to arrive and was wondering if it normally took this long or whether I should start to chase it.
My last one took just under 3 months. When it finally came it was incorrect (said RCC instead of CC), twice more they sent me the wrong one until finally hubby went and spoke to the KC at Crufts and a few weeks later we got the correct cert. So 6 months in all!
If it helps my boy got his at Crufts and it arrived after 5 weeks and 6 days (yes I was panicking slightly :)) so I would expect your boy's through any time now.
When it got to 5 weeks and 5 days I actually emailed the KC and I was very impressed - I got a reply back the next morning (I'd sent it late the previous night) telling me it had been sent out and giving me his SBN in the email along with asking me to let them know if hadn't received it and they'd reissue it.
What impressed me was I wasn't chasing it, just asking how much longer I could expect to wait, so all the information I'd given them was my surname and that he'd got it at Crufts - no breed, no name..etc and yet they still found the dog in question!
Thanks everyone for your replies. I've emailed the KC to see if they can give me an idea of how much longer it should take. (hopefully not as long as yours did Marianne!!)
I got a RCC in July then in august Stud book cert came end of October with the show listed as the August show. Don't panic. If you can log onto the KC site often the registration number has changed quite quickly to the stud book number.
My last one came very quickly, but it was after LKA with no more big champ shows before or after so I think time of year and the number needed to be got out will have a bearing.
I would say for those won at shows from May to August there will be a longer wait than during quieter champ show times.

Blue, does that mean in future paperwork you would use the stud book no. instead of the registration number? Alf won his at WELKS, I also do agility and you have to put the registration number on every entry form, would I need to changed this to his stud book no. ?
