Topic Dog Boards / Showing / NFC entries
- By Merlot [gb] Date 08.05.09 15:11 UTC
I have been showing for long enough to know the answer to this....but I don't!!
If a dog is entered as NFC does it have to stay in the tent outside? and can I enter a puppy 4 months and over?
Thought I may like to take Shabby along to have a look at a show before her big debut!
Thanks Aileen

Hi

If entered NFC and a benched show, the dog will have a bench  allocated so no does't need to stay outside.  the tent outside is for unentered dogs.

Think as for age, you need to check the schedule as I think some shows will allow 4 month puppies and others won't.  From what I can remem ber sub group shows or breed shows normally allow younger puppies but general champ shows don't

Hope this helps

No NFC gets benched with the others. You can only do puppies between 4 to 6 months at certain shows, think it is breed shows and group shows, not general champ.shows.

Thanks for your quick replies..no good for me then I was thinking of Windsor.

Thats answered the question for me also as wanted to take the little one along to Windsor also.. So what age do they have to be for NFC for general champ shows, is it 6 months and older?

Yup, from 6 months upwards :)

Just thinking about dropping entries at most shows you would think that the organizers would rethink this ruling. "Must be 6 months...Must be KC reg" Lots of showing folk have youngsters they would like to get out..or cannot leave at home alone, also lots must have non KC reg dogs they also cannot or are unwilling to leave. It may boost entries if they could bring all thier dogs along if wanting to, and have them inside the show as opposed to sitting in a tent all day. I would never leave mine outside if not allowed in. What d'you think, any Champ show organizers out there???

We are allowed here in Germany to take the other dogs to the Champ shows if not entered, we do pay an entrance fee about the equivalent of a child. (5 Euro approx)

Day out for dogs, getting toys, lot of fusses and sweeties, no dog sitter required. At the end of the day everyones happy. :)

But merlot, you can register any dog on the KC Activities register and they can be enterd NFC, can't they?  Or does that only apply to open shows and not champ shows?

Possibly Ice Queen, dosn't worry me as all mine are reg anyway. I was just thinking it may help out with falling entries!
Wondered what others thought.

How many children do you need to pay for 3 dogs to enter ??? :d :d

(Oh blast - you do say 5 euros!!!)

I was thinking in terms of a toddler per terrier or a large lad for a leonberger :)
