Hi there I am still in two minds whither to feed my Golden Retriever puppies James Welbeloved , Pro Plan or Royal Canin what do you think would be best ??

Thanks

What do you feed Mum on?  I tend to feed the puppy equivalent of whatever suits the Mother.

My mum to be is fed Royal Canin HT42d until 6 weeks pregnant, then I would swap her over to Royal Canin Starter the food the pups will be weaned onto, the pups then get a taste of the food through mums milk

mine is on pro plan lamb and rice and mum at the moment pro plan puppy lamb and rice this is what the pups get, but I only feed this as this is what my dogs do well on (also usually having a mix of raw foods aswell) I think like Isabel said it is best to just switch to the puppy version of what you are already feeding to your bitch. if it was me I wouldn't want to be swapping brands altogether if my bitch was already in whelp incase it causes her to have a stomach upset.

I have used Royal Canin for my past few litters and have been very pleased with the results - excellent bone structure developing.  I will not use anything else for my puppies.

I would just feed the puppy version of whatever you are feeding mom. I have just raised a litter on Pro Plan and they all look fantastic. Im very pleased with the results.
