Hello everyone, I'm new here and I didn't knew where to ask my question, so I decided to open new topic.
I have a 5 months old, pug, and today I've noticed that the right side of her mouth is swollen. I have to mention that I've recently suffered from mumps, so I wonder is it possible that she got infected from me, and if she did, what can I do to cure her?
Please help.

have you checked her teeth and gums,ladypenny?i would think that she needs to see the vet.apart from swelling,has she any other signs or symptoms?is she eating and drinking,can she chew,is she in pain?

Yes I have, and there are no visible signs that somethings wrong with her teeth or gums. She eats, drinks properly, but I beieve that she is pain, because she doesn't allows me to touch the swelling and she has been quite passive throughout the day. Anyway, tomorow morning I'm taking her to the vets. But I'm still scared that she may have the mumps. I wonder if someone has experiance with this kind of diseas. Is it dangerous for her health?

Could she have been stung? 

I would say that was more likely, I can't say 100% but I'm pretty sure that mumps isn't communicable between man and dog.

It's very rare.... but happens Published research paper stated cases (not sure if link will show more than abstract as I'm a member)

Known as parotiditis (sp??) swelling/infection of the Parotid gland.

I should'nt worry until you've seen your Vet and know what your dealing with as it could be any number of things as already said from stings to infection.

As it's near her airway your best bet is to keep an eye on her if the swelling is still ongoing.

But yet, if a dog can catch mumps, how can u cure? Same as humans?
