Topic Dog Boards / Breeding / Moving bitch with 1-2 weeks old pups

Hi
Wonder if you could give me some help with my dilemma??...
Due to unforseen circumstances my bitch will have her puppies and they will be about 1 - 2 weeks old, when i have to
go away.  I am trying to make arrangments to give her the best possible outcome.  Could i take them with me (obviously this is
all a bit guesswork at the mo, cause i dont even know how many she will have) Would changing there environment at that stage be
awful, or would it be more important that she is with me.....really upset i have found myself in this situation, but it is not something
i can change....any ideas gratefully received :-( thanks

Really depends the bitch.

Best outcome would be to have someone she knows with her in the place where she feels her pups are safe.

I generally do not move a litter until their eyes are open.

My own girls though would be perfectly OK with their whelping quarters being moved as long as I was there with them, but they are pretty confident and laid back.
