Topic Dog Boards / General / info needed on dogs in film ind
- By benson67 Date 28.04.09 07:03 UTC
Hi everyone i am doing my intermediate instructors course with Richard Clarke at BMDTS and on my course i have been given a project to do about dogs in the film industy in which i have to make a business and find as much info as posible i am nearly finished and i will be doing a presentation tomorrow night.

aparently there is a magazine for the industry which is where the agents and agencies get info on up and coming castings.

does anyone know what it is called or have a link to the magazine.

i could have misunderstood what i should be looking for but if anyone here has any experience in this area i would apreciate any help you could give, this is the last thing i need for this course i feel so close and yet so far from finishing.

this subject has been the hardest of all to research it sounded such a fun project untill we got home started trying to research and found very little info on the net.

thanks B

please please help
sorry im begging now

Would the canine film academy be of any help?

A couple of my boys were filmed for the Pride & Prejudice film a couple of years ago but I was approached at a dog show. I was not (nor were the dogs) a member of any special society.

Don't know if this is what you are thinking of... it is only available via mail, it is printed on dark red paper so it cannot be photocopied and is expensive, it is called Professional Casting Review. I used to get when I was working as a film extra.

Film extra work often invloves long boring hours sitting around until they need you! Most have two jobs and take a laptop with them these days and work on that while waiting. The pay varies wildly but IF you get to say a few words the pay rises dramtically, adverts are good though.

Glad you got sorted!  Katie is great - when I have the dogs titre tested, I always do it through her, she is really helpful.

Only just read your post - got a link to a husky site  http://arcticsun.tripod.com/ which had dogs in the film 'Snow Dogs' it has other links to 'Animal Actors' etc.
You could try searching for a film/programme you know has dogs in it and following links from there.
good Luck
