Hi, some of you may know I have 2 GORGEOUS Bullmastiffs, bitches, Nala 14 months and Lillie 2 1/2 years.

I have always fed RC Giant.  The younger is still on juniour the adult on adult!

I am thinking of changing brands.

I have researched Barf but need to read and learn alot more before I am ready to change over.  So, ideally for now I'd like your recommendations for other dry, complete food brands.

Many Thanks, Dawn R

I would only change a diet if its not working for the dog/s.

Of the brands which run on par to RC i would either try and use AG or Orijen(the latter if money no object).

Thats my preference. My older boy was on RC, didn't work so tried AG, didn't work so went onto BARF, worked.. I decided as some of the other dogs weren't on the BARF diet and it was causing fights with bones i put him on Orijen, works, but i have noticed he is loosing weight on it, he has enough to want to leave some in the bowl, has tripe and occasional chicken wings..
I am trying to sort something out so he can go back on the BARF diet asap..

Thanks very much for that.  I am not aware of Orijen, so I'll look into that one.

It really is only one of the dogs that seems a 'tiny' bit sensitive to the RC.

Ideally I'd love to try BARF, but, I need to get a bit more organised before I go ahead.

Thanks again.  DawnR

I used to feed RC but changed to Fish 4 Dogs (both cod and salmon variety), as did my friend. All the dogs are doing really well on it, with the RC we noticed a degree of looseness, but have none of this with the Fish 4 Dogs. We pay around £28 a bag, but if you show you can usually pick it up for between £20 to £25 a bag (15kg).
