We have a 9 week old pointer puppy who is currently quite poorly, he was dull, had diahorrea and seemed reluctant to move, we took him to the vet who believed he had some kind of infection because he had a very high temperture. they kept him in for a couple of days on a drip and gave him antibiotics (Noroclav)and anti-inflammatories (Metacam)  they have done blood tests, xrays and scans which have not shown anything but his movement has remained very stiff in all four limbs, if he tries to run he falls down. his condition seems to be slowly improving and he is now home but we are still baffled as to what is wrong with him and worried that he will make a full recovery? he had his first vaccination jab 6 days before he became ill, is this significant?

It's possible. How long had you had him before he had his first injection? A week is ideal to be reasonably sure that the puppy isn't already incubating an illness which could be worsened by the added organic stress of a vaccination.

I had a pup with similar symptoms and first thing the vet checked for was Addisons.  Did they mention this?
