Thanks very much. Taking the pup to his second show. Unfortunately we don't have puppy classes, so I'm taking him in junior and no.1 daughter is in AV minor puppy dog. He's going though a totally hyper stage at the mo, though, so I'm not expecting much, just a good day out and some experience for pup and daughter. What are the entries like for the show, being mid week and the general trend for lower entries?
- By MADDOG [gb] Date 14.04.09 16:08 UTC
Not going myself, but from experience midweek shows aren't much lower in entries (although I never get to them :-()  It's also the kids' school holidays so some people who can't go during the week due to kids' pick up will be able to go (again, not going as I wouldn't inflict both my kids on the dogshow world, one at a time is juuuust fine thanks ;-))

windsor gundog usually has quite a good entry.
- By ice_queen Date 14.04.09 19:30 UTC

Sonia was shortlisted with her spanish water dog for BIS. My little gsp Millie managed puppy group 3, very chuffed. My daughter won 12 -16 junior handling, really proud mum!!! Terri's new flatcoat boy won best puppy and was shortlisted in the puppy group as well.
- By rachelsetters Date 15.04.09 17:40 UTC
thought sonia got bis 4? Missed the puppy group well done your pup is gorgeous :) can you give the sup results in full?
Another proud mum as jess won the 6-11 yrs handling beating her sister and then won best junior handler her first best Jh and ottomans daughter was excellent well done to her a good class too :)
Had a reasonable result in the breed vhc 4 connor and 3rd with angus
Blustery day though

oh well done, I didn't realise it was your daughter Amy was up against. Apparently, She was just a bit quicker around the dogs than Amy to clinch it, I thought  your youngest went very well in her class, a lovely final line up!! Thankyou about Millie, I think she is scrummy, Amy loves handling her in Junior handling although that was only her 3rd time with Millie.

Cocker spanial won BPIS, was gorgeous. the gordon got reserve, then Millie, then the weimaraner
I know the visla won BIS, the GSP reserve, I think the flatcoat was 3rd but to be honest missed 4th beacuse we were about to go in.

Is that Sonia's SWD which one of your daughters was handling the other day Rach that was in BIS ring?
- By rachelsetters Date 17.04.09 06:36 UTC
hi sue its sonias spinone that em is handling  at the mo she did much better this week too
- By MADDOG [gb] Date 17.04.09 08:20 UTC
Sue, if it's Tunbridge Wells you're talking about, it was my spanish & my Emily handling, not Rachel's Emily just to confuse you!  My Emily's only 6 & R's E is a bit bigger ;-)  & was showing the Spinone.  Spanish aren't the easiest breed to palm off to another handler let alone a kid!  Mine's always looking for me so dd is on a hiding to nothing, even though she spends hours playing with her to gain her affection!
- By perrodeagua [gb] Date 17.04.09 09:16 UTC
Spanish aren't the easiest breed to palm off to another handler let alone a kid!  I'll let you show Anton and Calida some time, I'm sure they wouldn't mind :)  Hope that Bri's not dragging poor Emily around anymore bless, couldn't believe how well she handled her at the Spanish show, some kids would just of given up but not your girl!
- By suejaw Date 17.04.09 09:27 UTC
Rach thanks for that, just wondered if it was the same dog from Sonia. So very glad she is doing better and been allowed to handle the same dog again.. Maybe she would like to have a go at a puppy?? Lol..
- By briedog [gb] Date 17.04.09 09:40 UTC
gollie and tangle will both go off with other handlers to be shown,

jonna showed gollie on wednesday and karen use to show gollie, plus a friend son show gollie when she was young at richmond ch beacuse i was tied up with a fcr in the ring.
plus tangle gone off with other people too

no problem with my girls there,
- By MADDOG [gb] Date 17.04.09 15:14 UTC
Yes I remember that Gollie was quite happy to be bossed around by Emily a few years back.  No, Bri will look for me the whole time sadly.  don't even think she'll let an adult show her (even the one's she floozes over!)  But, as Diane said, Emily's stubborn.....;-)
- By jennyb59 [gb] Date 17.04.09 15:46 UTC
Yep not all mine like to go off with someone else either, Daisy would eventually go off with Katie to do JH, but I couldnt be anywhere near for ages, Archie will mostly behave for her, but Graci wont and Merlin is also very difficult as he proved at Windsor on Wednesday by being a complete little g%% for her, pulling and galloping along, whereas at Tunbridge Wells altho he was stubborn she still got a 2nd in Kennel Club stakes with him as he did move properly for her......
- By briedog [gb] Date 17.04.09 18:51 UTC
well i must be the luck one with my girls.
- By welshie [de] Date 21.04.09 14:33 UTC

- By rachelsetters Date 21.04.09 14:55 UTC
