Hi my girl is 5weeks pregnant & i am going to start feeding her scambled egg is it alright to give her goats milk mixed with eggs.
silly question but can i ask why? dont give any kind of milk to mum untill she had had pups , i give my girls goats milk warm just after shes whelped it will help her milk come though but could course problems giving it before , eggs are fine if shes not eating a good puppy food .
Never met a dog yet that does not love goats milk and it loves them back! :-D (I guess there will be some though with an intollerance just as with everything in life)
If she has a really good puppy complete food as her diet I wouldn't overload her with milk and eggs before whelping, she doesn't need it just an occassional treat will be fine though, she will love it.
Once the pups are born my girl enjoys scrambled egg with goats milk every morning and to also drink on it's own, it's extremely good for them.
I was told by a very experienced breeder not to give milk when a bitch is in whelp as any extra calcium is not needed at this stage and can cause eclampsia. You can give it after the pups are born. My girl has it a couple of times a day with half water and she loves it and the pups are thriving. Good luck with your babies.
mel.

Be careful not to feed your bitch too much calcium as the previous poster says. Eclampsia can be very dangerous so I would avoid the goats milk and just stick with dog food throughout pregnancy. At least you know exactly what it going into your dogs body then.

Thank you all i will not be giving my girl goats milk.I have never used it before, so i will be using whelpi as i have always used it without any problems.
I have taken all your good advice i will stick to what i know.

Goats' milk is designed for kids. Whelpi has been formulated for puppies, and is therefore more suitable.
