Okay mat update! The plus points are that yes, they DO work -no more muddy pawprints on the floor as (so far at least) it has stuck to the mat. They lay very well and don't ruck up and don't move when vacuumed over either. Obviously I haven't washed one yet as I only got them yesterday but I'd imagine you can only fit one in the washer at a time.
The minus points are minor but worth mentioning. As I got the "Kennel Mats" these are sometimes marked (hence the lower price), which in reality meant that most of them (bot not all, some were perfect) had a triangle or two cut off the rubber edge. Doesn't matter in the cattery, but I picked out the perfect ones for the house. The postage was stated as £8.50 for up to 30 kg so naturally I assumed 10 mats would not weigh over 30 kgs -well they did so the postage was double. Also the size is given as 5' x 3' but my pedantic husband went and measured and found they were a couple of inches short. (Not that it bothers me!) Finally I have no carpets in the house as we have so many animals but this was like putting a small carpet down so it quickly got covered in hairs, which meant that when I vacuumed it took a bit more effort than normal - I have plastic floors and hairs go up so easily normally as they don't stick to anything. But really having to vacuum a 5' x 3' piece isn't much to moan about.
Overall, I'm happy as they do what they are meant to. I don't know how long the offer of 10 of these for £50 plus postage is on for but like I say it's not on the website and you'd have to phone Splendid Pets.
