I was wondering if anyone knows if Noroclav tablets are ok to be taken by a bitch when she is still feeding pups.

Yes it's entirely safe.

Thankyou so much i was really worried. This is a thread related to Hand Rearing pups on the Breeding board. The tablets are in a Synulox bag
so i thought that the tablets would be the same as that is what he injected her with yesterday but was surprised to see they were Noroclav.
Anyway will now go and pop a tablet down her wrapped in chicken.

Noroclav and Synulox are the same thing. :)

This is what my bitch was given when she had serious Mastitis and she carried on feeding her pups no problem, though poor dear was very sorry looking until they started to take effect.  I am informed by humans who have suffered that Mastitis makes you feel like you have flu.

My bitch has been to see Vet who diagnosed Mastitis and prescribed noroclav and pardale . Day 2 of the tablets and her 9 day old puppies have the runs is this normal?  . I'm trying as well as I can to express the infected breast milk is white but there is some red bloody colour coming also is this the stuff I need get out. What's best way to break it all up ?
Many thanks

It could be the antibiotics causing it. Some live natural yogurt could help both pups and mum.

I was going to suggest this, but then thought nah, leave it alone.   IF we have ever had to have a nursing bitch on abs. we have given natural yogurt - goats yog. if available to both mum and a very small amout to the puppies too - it's a probiotic.

The pups should be kept off the affected teats which should be helped by using a warm flannel.  Did your vet not advise this?  If more than one teat is affected and the puppies appear hungry if not nursing on the full 'milk bar' (they are noisy) then you may be looking at supplementing, for now.
