Wasnt sure where to post this but hopefully someone can help.

I have a 10 week old puppy ive kept from a very special litter of pups and have just noticed today that his two middle teeth are undershot.  I was planning to keep him to show but obviously he needs a good mouth.  I now dont know whether to keep him until he changes his puppy teeth to see what happens or to find him a special pet home now.

Has anyone had this problem before and did the mouth turn out ok.

Thanks

Yes, I've seen a pup undershot in the front baby teeth - tight reverse scissor bite.  The jaw was NOT undershot tho ;)  She went on the have beautiful teeth and a perfect scissor bite.   To encourage her teeth to set correctly she had cardboard boxes to rip up and gristly bones while her new teeth were coming through - the thinking being if she used her teeth correctly then they'd be fine which they were.  She is now a champion :-D

Personally, I wouldn't panic at this stage as long as the problem is slight and the jaw itself is fine ;)

If you like the puppy a lot  run onto say 7 months but I have personally never seen a mouth come through correct that had bottom teeth poking forward.

Dill above has BUT I would be prepared for the worse and if it come right it is a bonus.

I have found with terriers the baby teeth often mirror the adult.
