Just thought it would be interesting to see how many of us with babies are being deprived of sleep!!! I sleep on the sofa with my lot for 3 weeks. Im on day 12 now so the end is in sight and shes started leaving the box after shes fed them so i'm getting intervals of 2 hours or so in between feeds now so its not too bad at the moment.  Feel free to join in even if you don't have pups at the moment, unless its to tell me how much sleep you are getting and how comfy your bed is!!!!!!!

My babies are only 5 days old and the bags under my eyes are almost down to my chin. It's worse than having my own (human) babies as there are 10 times as many to squeak in the night! Wouldn't swap it for the world though.

yes, i know that feeling...i sleep on the sofa until 4 weeks and dont leave them unattended for a minute.

Very tiring but so worth it to know they are all safe.

I mated my homebred girl a week ago so really hope that we are successful, then it will be no sleep for me, but i cant wait :)

Enjoy your bundle of fun :)

In most instances I leave mine to sleep alone after the first night. They are very careful with their babies. I think we can "nanny" them too much. They are after all animals and hopefully have a inherited a sense of how to look after their young. It never fails to amaze me how they do know what to do, it comes very naturally to them.

Yup me too. Mine are in the bedroom with us at the moment. So not alot of sleep and my OH is terribly grumpy at the moment lol. *rolls eyes* :-P

However they are three weeks tomorrow so I'll be moving them downstairs. Peace at last lol :-D

my other half is a bit of a grump too!! My girl has been fantastic with her pups too but she has needed assistance on one or two occasions to move them out of her way when she wants to get out. She stands looking at me as if to say, mom, can you move them! if i hadn't been there i'm sure she would have stood there all night for fear of standing on one!

I would like to be a member too!! I had one day/night awake solid for 25 hours  apart from the rest..hubby on a 12 night shift and he has to sleep before his job if he makes a mistake he could be prosecuted , we had the grand national on here in Merseyside so he had no choice but to work it.It completely threw me I was like a zombie, with all the heartache we had I couldnt close my eyes for a second...
Luckily he has now taken 10 days off and he offered to do the night shift so I am floating round after a good 7 hrs each night!!

I finally got a full nights sleep Tuesday night (april 7th).  They were born Feb 22, and March 1.  I have the one litter in my room, so I guess I still sleep with them close by.  The other one is in the dinning room, and they have been sleeping alone since the first week.  Will I ever plan on having two litters at once again??  NO!!!  The sleep deprivedness started about a week before the first litter was born, and just continued till now.  Although, during the wee hours of the morning, the pups decide to play as loud as they can, and that wakes me up.

Cant wait until I can pull my membership from The Sleep Deprived Club!!!  That will be one I would gladly give up!!!

I call my decision to do that stupidity.  I dont think I will ever do it again!  Unless I have a lapse of judgement again, but lets hope that doesnt happen!
