My staffy has always had a skew-wiff ear since she was a pup.  they were perfect and symetrical until she was teething and then it all went wrong.  This last week she is looking symetrical again but how can this be?  she will be 6 in a couple of weeks and as far as I am aware dogs don't get wisdom teeth so any clues what is causing this?

She is eating and chewing as normal so I don't think it is a teeth issue.  Her ears don't look dirty or smell unusual so I don't think there is an ear infection.  I am confused about why the ear would change shape.

She will be 6 months old or 6 years old?  Teething often does cause erect ears to flop or ears to change position and once over they will return to the way they are meant to be as an adult.   Although we don't often think about it - ears grow with the rest of the body and until they stop growing the cartilege at the base of the ear tends to be very soft, hence the position of the ear can change.

6 years old cairnmania.  she has had one flying ear all her life but now it matches the other one and looks normal.

We have a daxie puppy 6 1/2 months about a month ago I noticed his ear set was lop sided..panicked a bit then was calmed down by a friend that said the change was due to cutting back teeth. whew what a relief...
