Hi dawn ,ill try and keep this short :) ...she needs the vets !!!! we have have 4 dogs and 3 of them went down with this bug ,the 4th girl she was in whelp and didnt get it at this time but came down with it the night before she whelped !! well the bug as past to her milk and the pups have had very bad runs ,they are 17days old now and 1 of them still gets the runs :( im at the vets all the time :( but hes well and drinking and putting on weight ,so i think at this stage she may need some fluids and could need ABs i wish my girl had them ,when she started with it !!
Good luck ,your vet will be able to help , dont know where you are , but around where i am the vets are sooooo bizy with this ,it seems like a very bad bug going around my vet told me :( xx

Hi Dawn. I agree with every body else, your girl needs the vet asap. She may need antbiotics.
There is a very nasty bug doing the rounds at the min so better safe than sorry.

Thanks for the advice i called the vets and she mentions this bug and told me to starve her for 24 hours which i did and the tummy upset stopped and the vomiting did also by the sunday a.noon she picked up monday and had proper stools theni think ive been really lucky and even luckier she didnt pass it on to my other 3 dogs, all seems well with the pregnancy she started with her discharge and its clear and no other problems so fingers crossed will shall be seeing puppies in 4 weeks going for another scan next wednesday though just to make sure growth is ok and nothing has actually been effected but i think we will be fine thanks again for the advice no mater how many times you breed theres always something that crops up and in some cases 2nd opinions are great
Hi dawn thats great news :) ...im sure pups will be fine :) ...and very true about "it dont matter how many times " if your anything like me ever whelp feels like the 1st :) ...just the worry "what if" takes over me :( ...
good luck with the babes when thay come :) xx
i will keep u posted they are due in 3 weeks now and she has changed so much, shes eating better but instead of her usual dry food is cesar...and it stinks but what ever my girl wants...yak
We are at the vets in the morning for a 2nd scan the fist scan was done at 24 days and showed 2-3 puppies but more may have been released after the 28th day she was at the vets last week and the vet felt her tummy and said a very small litter of 1-2...i thought it was amazing how one vet has x-ray fingers and how even a scan can be wrong,on our last litter the vet told us 5 strong heartbeats and babies on the thursday a.noon and thursday night we had 7 healthy huge babies....lol just shows how wrong thes guesstimations can be...lol anyway news of Lazy Daisy's will follow
