Hi all, since you are the fonts of all knowledge and many are involved with cats as well i thought i would see if you can help.

My other half mum got a rescue cat called Tinker who she adored. Unfortunately he died right before Christmas, we are not sure how, it may have been an accident but Liam says he had no obvious injuries. The poor boy was not born in the best of circs though and its possible that he might have had issues we didn't know about.

Anyway, Val now feels ready to get a new cat and i have been trying to find one for her, there are a few requirements:

NOT black and white felix like- Tinker looked like this and the resembelance would upset her
Preferably a rescue
1.5 years at oldest (tried to persuade to older but no doing)
must be a nice, cuddly cat

asside from that shes happy if-

its one or more, she could cope with a pair if thats how they come, maybe even say an older mum and kitten together
doesn't mind coat type as long as they will allow grooming
shes experienced
doesn't work
has a garden

i've called about one in forfar but no one there so will see what they say later and we will be going to dundee CPL on monday but i thought i would ask if anyone knew of any needing a home

If your mum is looking for a mog then I think CP in Dundee is probably her best bet or look through the local Yellow Pages.  I find male cats more cuddly than females.

Your mum might like to think about making her garden secure so the new cat can have the luxury of using it's own garden without fear of a stray cat getting in (Or it getting out) as cats can carry such nasties as FelV & FIV transferable by bites through cat fighting etc.

Have you looked on Dundee Gumtree?

I agree with Christine, CP Dundee will probably have just the cat for her! We've had various cats from there, though for some peculiar reason we don't pick the obvious choices, we go for the most unwanted and dysfunctional! They usually have some really lovely cats there of all ages, she may need to go a few times and then the right one will be there asking to be taken home. Good luck! ( P.S. It's worth phoning first as there are only certain times of day when you can view the cats)

Hope your OH MUM, get's to find the pussy cat of her dreams, I've had 8 rescue pussy's in the last 15years, they've all been rescue CDSH except my little beauty Russet who was a CDLH ginger female, Ive had mixture of males and females and they've all been little fuss pots, although I'm a doggy woman pussy cats are so calming and serene :-D

well just an update...OH and i went to CP Dundee yesterday and there is a girl there that might suit. there is also one with forfar CPL that we're off to see tonight who is a boy and so appeals to her more. either way i think she'd be happy with either one :)
