Hi

Just wondering whether anybody on here feeds forthglade to their dogs? I am currently feeding naturediet but my westie has gone right off of it and i am not as impressed with it as i used to be, some local people have suggested forthglade and say their dogs have done really well on it, just wondered what your thoughts were if you fed it.

I use frozen forthglade is that the one you mean ? My dogs are both raw fed and I use a mixture of forthglade minced meat and bone all types and chicken in various bits. If you are thinking of raw feeding its certainly worth a try. Do you feed kibble as well if so just add abit and see how you westie likes it , I personally on feed raw but I know many who feed a combination.

Its the lifestage complete food that they have suggested in the packets that are fresh like the naturediet and natures harvest.

Hi Helen

I used Forthglade for several years. The dogs loved it and did well on it. However, with 5 Ridgebacks and 2 Aussies, I got through huge quantities of it and got seriously fed up with disposing of all the packaging - not too much of an issue for you with one Westie :). I think it's a pretty good food, certainly worth a try.

Would you say its better quality than naturediet or have you never used this?

I have tried forth glade in the trays like nature diet but it didn't seem to suit my 2 toy poodles and as I had to order it specially from an independant pet shop I ended up donating 27 trays of it to pets at home for the dogs home it gave both my dogs the runs. I now feed natures menu in tins which they look extremely healthy on and royal canin mini sensible.

I give my lot a little bit mixed in with their dry food and they love it.
I also feed my puppies on fourthglade puppy and they absolutely wolf it down! They have puppy kibble as well but the forthglade is definately the favourite with this litter.

Hi HAMISH75
I have used forthglade with my girls complete and found it fine, not unlike nature harvest.
It must be good as its made at my end of the country, with west country ingredients.
Have you looked at their website. may help you decide.

Do you feed any kibble with your forthglade or just give them this meat, i know it is a complete food but didn't know whether you put mixer with it or not?
People have said forthglade is better than naturediet and natures harvest thats why i asked on here to see what you guys thought.

Thanks

I just mix a small amount with their kibble, but you can also feed alone if you wish.

Do you feed a mixer biscuit with it or a complete biscuit?
- By ridgielover Date 06.04.09 19:32 UTC
When I was using it, I mixed it with Laughing Dog mixer biscuit.
