Hi all, not been online here for a long time now. Hope everyone is well. My 2 year old pug has been fine, full of beans, vet all clear health check on tuesday and was given surolan for her and the bullies ears, querying ear mites? anyway, she has been fine up until 2 hours ago, suddenly gone all lethargic, trembling and not her normal character. Tried taking her over the road to the park and she didn't want to go, very very unusual. I notcied earlier a very fishy smelly liquid, small amount, coming from her bum, anal glands? would this make her poorly though? Looked up the symptoms and it points towards toxicity of somekind, could it be the surolan? anyone experienced this before? maybe she's eaten something in the garden?
Worried, confused, anyone who can help? why do these things happen at night!!!!!

I wouldn't be waiting, I would be having a vet call out.  Tonight.

Hi, the vet thinks she may have hurt her back, either jumping off the settee or playing with the bulldogs! They gave her a painkiller and anti inflammatory injection and said if it is her back that should make a considerable difference, she is back to her normal hyperactive self :-) taking her back tomorrow for check up and maybe to be given some more painkillers etc. Just waiting and worrying what will happen when the injection wears off! anyone else had similar problem?

Im not saying it is, but have you discussed the possiblity of hemivertibrae with the vet?
It may well just be muscular but if it isnt then I'd be very concerned about the possiblity of her developing HV. Ask the vet about it when you go for the check up. It can be easily detected with an xray.
Just a thought!
