Well, Tesco had a 3.3L Slow cooker for £14.97(think it was that price!) I've always wanted one and at that price we couldn't resist! It will be handy for making Lamb Kleftico(Kleftiko which ever way you spell it!) which we love! Does anyone else have any tried and trusted recipes for it please? Thanks, Dawn x

Oh Dawn, I'll have to get you my beef stifado recipe for the slow cooker! Delicious!

I cook loads of stuff in mine...beef stew, lentil casseroles, chick pea curries, lamb shanks, whole chicken, soups, ham hocks....  It's fantastic to come home from work to find dinner ready :-)

Let me know what sort of stuff you're interested in and I'll give you my recipes (although much if it is just chucking stuff in and hoping for the best!)

I even have the same model of slow cooker only I got it on offer for £9.97!.  And I'd love a Kleftiko recipe, if you have one :-)

I bought a slow cooker from Tesco last year, 'You are what you eat' type jobby, the thing is a god send for working types and I love it. I think back in the olden days we called them 'crock pots'.

Get yourself some pork sparerib chops, oregano, basil, bay, black pepper, tinned toms, onions or leeks if you prefer a milder flavour, mushrooms, tomato and garlic paste a veggie stock cube and a handfull of frozen peas and sweet corn.

Heat a fry pan chuck in some extra virgin olive oil let it get hot but not burning, bung in the chops to sear, take them out and chuck them in the slow cooker set to high, back to the fry pan, lob in the onions/leeks fry till translucent add more olive oil if needed, grind the pepper and chuck on the herbs whilst the onions are frying, then add a handful of peas and corn plus sliced mushrooms stock cube and tinned toms, keep it hot and squirt in the pastes, the more tomato paste you add the thicker your sauce will be add a bit of water to give a good fluid sauce, bring it to bit of a bubble and pour it over the meat in the slow cooker. Leave it on high for about 15mins then drop to low and b''@@er off out, if you got a fancy job that does 'Auto' then it'll start high and then drop the temp. Serve it on pasta with garlic chiabatta.

If you can't be bothered to do all of that then just pre-heat the slow cooker in the morning chuck everything in and off to work it'll still be pretty tasty and the meat just slips off the bone.

Well, they had this one and a brushed chrome one...which I liked the look of, as my kitchen stuff is all silvery if you know what I mean...my white goods are stainless steel! But, it looked as if DEREK(HAHAHA!) could clean the outside of the black cermamic with a scrubber without damaging the chrome, so we opted for the slightly more expensive one!

I'll look out my recipe and post it tomorrow for you all...it's delish!

Thanks all for any contributions which I am eternally grateful for! ;-)

Yep...that's the one I have.  It was on special offer about 6 months ago :-)  I didn't want to spend much on it as I didn't know if I would use it so I snapped it up when it was so cheap but it is worth it's weight in gold!

My friend has my notebook with the stifado recipe in it and she's on holiday at the moment so I'll get it for you when she comes home...remind me if I forget.

I have had mine for about 6 months or so. Love it, although I do use it mainly for puppy 'Ernie'. Chicken pieces done overnight so the bones go soft, and recently discovered salmon trimmings in Morrisons including the head. Do them for a good few hours and Ernie loves it. Might get to use it for myself one day.
