Hi Millies puppies are three weeks old tomorrow and up until the last few days we have no problems:

I need some advice on the following one pup crys a lot and is not feeding from mum ( Mum has plenty of milk ) pup is loosing weight mum seems uninterested when pup crys , however she does lick it alot, can anyone give me some advice urgently!

It's so worrying this is our first litter i couldn't bear to loose any one of them!!!

Small breed of dog if this helps?

If the pups is crying, losing weight & not feeding then I would get to the vets ASAP to be on the safe side.

I'd take it to the vet-maybe try feeding it with a bottle (if you have evaporated)

Took puppy to vets on Sunday puppy has pneumonia, vet kept in overnight, she did not think puppy would last the night! Pup picked up a little during the night and then took a turn for the worst yesterday morning, and then improved towards the afternoon, vet let us take her home thinking she would be better with mum, having to go back to vets daily for antibiotics. The good news is Puppy is feeding a little from mum and a little from us every day she survives is a bonus, at one point she lost the ability to suck and to swallow, vet is still not sure if she will survive but we will not give up without a fight.
