my 5 yr old girl has got a brown sticky discharge coming from her vulva it isnt constantly there and it looks a bit like the colour when her season is tailing off it isnt smelly but she is licking herself a bit more it is about 6wks after her last season .....
i noticed it last night and so far she is still eating ok and drinking and is happy....... anyone got any ideas what it may be thanks

It sounds like an infection - a visit to the vet today is in order.

I'm in total agreement. For peace of mind I'd want the vet to have a look today - it could be pyometra, but maybe isn't. I'd want the vet to tell me either way.

got her in at 1:00 if he offers antibiotics which ones are the best as ive been reading up on the internet about vaginitis which from the symptons she has sound like this...  any advice will be helpfull as my vet is well known for been bill happy ifykwim so just want to go in there a bit clued up.

The 'best' antibiotic is the one that's most effective at killling the particular bacteria in the individual infection. Your vet is the best person to know which medication will work best.

what was the diagnosis of her discharge?

the vet said it was vaginitis has given me anti bs and i have to take her bk tmz for some swabs but the discharge has almost gone and its clear now so hopefully the antibs have started to work thank for asking

Glad to hear she's on the mend. it could have been a lot worse.
