Hi, I got asked this question a few days ago and wasnt 100% sure of the answer so would be grateful if someone could tell me...What would be the coat length/colour of puppies produced from a black and tan standard length coat bitch(parents of which, mum is long coat and dad is standard coat) she also has one white gparent 3generations back. To a white long coat male (parents of which one is black and tan long coat and dad is long blackk and tan) with short white hair further back in his lines.
This is in NO WAY  a planned mating!!!! just a query lol- if I havnt explained it very well just let me know thanks

As they both carry the white gene I wouldn't be suprised if she had both white and black and tan puppies, same with coat lengths, a mixture of long and short.

I wasnt sure as I thought that because both the bitchs sire and dam are both standard coat, they would all be black and tan as white is a recessive gene?

If the female has inherited   the white and LC  gene you will get whites, AND LONG COATS
