Thought I would give an update- we brought him to see the vet and I asked what she would do if he was hers... She tried to check his bum and could not cause he was that sore and bleeding- but said she wants us to try putting Anusol on him or perperation H for a week give it a try cause if it works then great cause he is still a very happy dog and she would hate to pts if we don't give this a try- then she told us the days she will be in so we have some time to see if there will be a difference.. Of course we are all for this so picked up some Anusol Plus ointment which also works as a numbing so I put this on his bum and it came with a lil tube so I can also insert some up- since we have done this must feel much much better cause he is really pooping lots now. His lil bum is still sore but in hopes it helps shrink it down and relieve the pain... She said to try this for about a week and if his lil bum is not getting any better then we will have to pts much kinder then letting him think that life is this painful- I straight out said if he was your dog what would you do? She said this is what I would do, cause I told her I cannot make that descision and I leave what she feels is in his best interest up to her. We felt much better when we left and we still have our lil man- so of course after every outside we dab his bum to clean it then I apply the stuff- told the kids them to will have to do this and I will watch to make sure they are doing this right. I no my son will with no problem, but my daughter on the other hand not so, so I told her you want to make his life more comfortable and hopefully have him around alot longer then she to must help out with him. I told her when he comes in must always dab his bum cause I do not want poo on the floor and you must put this on him- also reason for dabbing bum is to clean it up so the ointment stays on- to her thats gross- so not sure if we are gonna get much help from her- but will see cause they both will have to do this and I will watch so I no they are doing it right- of course I will be the only one to put it inside his lil bum....

Fingers crossed this will work.... But I can tell our lil man is still very sore cause he does let out a whine when when I put it on and I no miracles do not happen over night- I am sure getting dishpan like hands from all the hand washing Iam doing- but its worth it in the long run if this makes him feel better and we still have him with us :-) he is such a lil character and a great dog- of course I say that cause he is mine....

Is she saying the problem is piles or have I missed more of your post ?Becareful with the ointments that contain an anelgesic and dont over use cos from personal experience (sorry folks) it is easy to set an allergy to the analgesia, my doctor warned me and he was right. Can you the pessarys that we humans use as they stay inside for a bit. I am trying to be as delicate a possible
If it is piles do they not operate as you do for humans? Sorry if I am being stupid or is there amore serious problem.
Hope these treatments help and you dont lose your little man

ooops sorry he has a rectal prolapse so his lil bum sticks out like a lil red cherry-

He still leaves poo behind and it still hurts when I dab his bum when he comes in and there is still blood- when I put the Anusol on his bum he asks to go out straight away- plus it seems to be taking some of the fur off around his bum area- so am wondering now if he is maybe having a reaction to it- causing hair loss in that area... Now I put it on but not as much cause I think it is irritating him and he tries to sit down- he really does not like anyone touching his lil bum, which I totally understand... I do think he is in pain and I don't think its working like we would like it to- I no it won't get rid of his prolapse at all but it just seems to be very sore still and still poop in his kennel... I will no more monday night when we see our vet again- I really don't want to but I no I have to think whats best for him- and its not right for him to think life should hurt this much when you have to poo... His lil bum is such a bright red and really looks pretty painful, but of course we are giving the week and some days in hopes a miracle can happen... I did tell her I leave the descision up to her cause I cannot make that descision and I no she will tell me whats best for him- just don't like to think about it- he is such a lil character- I guess if it ends up being we have to look at that we have given him 71/2yrs of love that some people may not have even given him and prob would have pts at 6 weeks of age...
