I have 2 1/2 week old puppies i never see them go toilet.Mum of pups does clean them but it seems to be the wee area. When one of the pups feed he gets a really hard tummy and seems to pant after and throw his head back.Pups behave normally and dont cry any advise

It's difficult to see a pup poo when mum is cleaning them ;-) She will lick it all away before you get the chance to see anything. You should start to see poos once they are up on their feet and moving away from mum. As to your pup that is putting his head back I wonder if he has a touch of colic?

If you are worried why dont you try to do it incase that is the problem. Bit of warm water and cottonwool. My breed tends not to do any cleaning much only a quick lick. I had to do it all. It may put your mind at rest.

I did try that but they did not poo. My breed are not the best of mums if i leave they leave even if they are feeding. I have been sitting with them all the time .I f there was a problem i would imagine they would be crying all the time -wouldnt they?

If I have a stressy puppy I like to massage it a bit. That seems to calm and soothe the pup, then I will gently lay the pup down on its side which keeps the weight off its tummy. If it's colic this generally disappears once they start to wean so at 2 and a 1/2 weeks old you won't have long to go now.
I'm including a link below to a Tellington Touch site. Some of the techniques are easy to follow at home. Hope all goes well.
