As some of you know I lost a couple of my helpers for Discover Dogs re their concerns about personal data on pass stubs, think you might be interested in the response -so much for no 3rd party involved! I saw the security guys throwing them into those big plastic sacks so you have to wonder just how safe that is right there on the door no collection separate for those stubs which would have made more sense and validated the audit better or even if someone had ACTUALLY taken out tickets off us!
Thank you for your email regarding the data required on complimentary tickets at Crufts. We appreciate your concerns but I will try to explain why the data is required. Crufts is being audited by ABC who are a recognised and respected body within the media and events industry. For further details about the organisation please see the following link on their website.
http://www.abc.org.uk/cgi-bin/gen5?runprog=nav/abc&noc=y In order to verify attendance numbers every ticket has to be traceable to an individual to be able to confirm that they were at the show. Spotchecks may be carried out on a random, small number of tickets to confirm this. I can assure you that the data on the tickets is used solely for this purpose. For further information about how the auditing process works please seethe following link.
