Now it appears my 9 month old pups allergies have been sorted and his coat is starting to grow again, we are finally ready to start ringcraft.

I asked a few months ago about any recommendations for classes locally and recieved some good info via PM which I'm afraid I didn't save and has now been deleted. :-o
I believe the classes were held somewhere near harlow but I can't remember any more details.

Can anyone recommend any ringcraft classes in essex. I'm near chelmsford but am happy to travel if neaded?

Hi,
I've got a 7 month old dachshund puppy and would love to try showing him but I've no idea what is required - anyone know of ringcraft classes anywhere near Grantham Lincs please?
Or any other information on showing a puppy would be helpful - he DOES need help as at the moment he HATES anyone but me touching him!
Thanks
Pagan

Hiya,

try this website

http://www.bestofbreeds.com/clubcorner/dogs/ringcraftclubs.htm

best to try and get him out and about and socialise him...maybe try when you take him out take some of his favorite treats and get people to givehim a treat and a stroke whilst you are out?

hope it helps.

I know that Chelmsford Canine Society have ringcraft. I think it is the last monday of the month (excluding bank hols, of course) in Writtle village hall - opposite the duck pond.  Think it starts about 7 pm.

This is another one.

Romford and District hold classes Tuesday evenings - I think at Harold Hill.

I am trying to find the best classes myself as I am getting another pup this weekend which I intend to show.  I too live in Chelmsford.

Thanks for the info i'll make some calls.

Funnily enough someone gave me a number for the Chelmsford and district Canine Society at the vets this morning, I'll ring tommorow if I have time.
I have also spoken to someone who holds classes in Colchester but I haven't been along yet. I'm also thinking about going to the class mentioned earlier in Dunmow although it is a little further than I had hoped to travel. I guess it's a case of trying a couple and seeing which fit best.

We go to obedience classes near Billericay but unfortunately they don't do ring craft classes. We have however just started doing our bronze good citizen award.

What breed is your new pup going to be?

Romford & District have recently moved to a hall in Navestock Side (Nr. Brentwood) on a Thursday night. A nice big hall and a nice bunch.

North London Ringcraft are at a big church hall, on a Tuesday night, at the A10 junction with the A406, and this is really good for beginners (and experienced). Well worth travelling for.

Dagenham & Barking (I think) are in a hall in Bulphan

SWECA are in a church hall in Romford on a Monday night

And there's another great Ringcraft at Crewes Hill (Enfield) on a Thursday night. It's about 5 mins from the M25 / A10 Junction and also well worth travelling too.

If you can't find contact details for any that you are interested in then post back and I will try to dig them out.
