Have just heard that an Acredited Breeder is not going to renew her membership cos she is going to use a stud dog that has not been hip tested. Although this is a requirement of this breed. Surely this makes a complete mockery of the system. I have no axe to grind as it is not my breed, but I am an Accredited Breeder. I just wish that the Kennel Club could do something about situations like this. What do other people think.?

Like what?  At least this person is aware they cannot remain in the scheme.

I am not an accredited breeder because we are in Ireland, but I believe myself to be an ehtical breeder and would not use a dog that is not tested, nor allow anyone to use my dog whosebitch wasnt tested.

Neither would I but I don't understand your point.  This person is leaving the scheme.   I have no idea why they are choosing that course and it is very regretable to say the least but I don't understand what the KC can be expected to do about it.  Nobody is obliged to register their puppies with them much less join the ABS.

I to am a member of the scheme, have been since it started.
I have just looked at the DNA profiling as i have a youngster who needs doing, they have put it up £10, I feel that its a very big jump at this time when people are finding it harder.
I will have my pup done, but feel we are being taken advantage of.
