Has anyone ever seen one or 'owt like it? I was just browsing(well, secret surfing really, checkin' up! shhhh say no more, nudge nudge, wink, wink) someone directed me to this really, really weird site that is called a 'Ghost hunting site'!!!!! Seems to be the usual wackos and multi-personality people on there...very similar to CD really!!!  :-o ;-)

Just to say...I do believe in evil and the devil, sometimes they are apparent way too often! :-)

I used to see 'Dobies' all the time, they were the ghosts of people who had lost their lives crossing the sands on Morcambe bay. I used to walk the dogs with my father on the marshes and the 'dobies' were a wispy white thing that appeared before you! (Actually the marsh gasses!) ;)

Mmmm yes I do believe in ghosts in fact we think we have a Poltergeist living with us at the moment . Lots of strange sort of things keep happening amongst last week when all the girls were in the lounge snoozing but we both heard their pig toy honk  I checked all the girls were in the lounge again and went to investigate and the pig was lying alone in the utility , now I wonder if anybody can help explain that ! (might have something to do with the innocent looking tortie sitting no too far away ! :-) )

As for the type of site you are talking about yes funnily enough I have seen something similar recently(how spooky) and it does come across as rather freaky !

Spooky or what!!!!  Maybe its our 'puters - maybe they are linking us up in a physic sense ....that sort of site popped up on one of my searches t'other day.......whooh!  whoooh!!

(And it's first thing in the morning, so I'm definately not pixilated!!;) )

The area where we now live is reputed to be haunted - there are many stories of people seeing Roman Legions ....but rather like in the City of York, people see the top halves only .....and they are marching across the causeway that links us to the main land.   And where do we live?   Near Colchester - not far from where the first Romans would have come ashore !!

And like Newfiedreams - just as firmly as I believe in the forces of Good, do I believe that there are forces of Evil :(
- By Missie Date 11.03.09 08:25 UTC
ooh spooky!
I often feel like I'm being watched!

and you know that 'feeling' ? like you are not alone when you know you are??

Think I need exorcising.......or is it exercise???
- By Whistler [gb] Date 11.03.09 08:28 UTC
I haven't seen any but I am a beliver, I went with a mate to a physcic fair, I was told I would be married in 3 weeks.

I was living with my now OH, I didn't realise his divorce was through, he gave me a card 8am one morning to say a wedding had been booked (registry office) for 10am the same morning! 2 weeks 6 days to the day, he never told my parents, only his boss at work for a couple of days off!! now thats spooky.

There is more than we know between heaven and hell.

I am a believer and have seen 3 ghosts. Very weird but exciting experience. As my uncle always told me 'its not the dead that hurt you its the living', so i have never been afraid or scared even when i was living with a ghost.
- By paulaj [gb] Date 11.03.09 15:32 UTC
I'm a believer but i don't know if i've ever seen a ghost, i do often think i see our last dog but thats more wishful thinking.
My OH swears he saw a ghost on the lane where we live, it's reputed to be haunted anyway but on this particular day he had the dogs and they were growling like mad and acting very spooked which is unusual for them.  My Mum also thinks she heard a ghost on the same lane a while ago, however when she reached our place and told us, it couldn't be heard.
- By Lokis mum [gb] Date 11.03.09 15:33 UTC
And I'm certain that CD is haunted ....... ;)
- By HuskyGal Date 11.03.09 15:42 UTC
We certainly see a fair few 're-incarnations' ;)

I've had an extra dog or two that have joined me on walks, even though they departed a few years ago. I have had to look twice before realising who they were - they disappeared just as quickly. My daughter sees ghosts, there is supposed to be one in my living room, though I've never seen him. He sits in a rocking chair looking out of the window.

When my son and his ex were living together she was held against the wall and couldn't breathe, no-one could see what was happening until my daughter walked in. She went white and then told the ghost to stop. Son and ex moved out not long after that.

Members of my family have also seen things that are going to happen before they happen. Lockerbie, Kings Cross, Twin Towers........ It scares them half to death.
- By susieq [gb] Date 11.03.09 18:30 UTC
I believe!  We had a guest house in Devon that was most definitely haunted, lights and radios came on in the middle of the night, used to scare the guests half to death!  We also had friend who had an old coach house in Yorkshire and every night you could hear horses hooves on the cobbles outside (there had been no horses there for years!), a couple of people even got knocked over and claimed it was like being nudged by a big horse.

I recently went on a 'most haunted' type evening which was very spooky.  But then you see Derren Brown doing very similar things and he is adament he is not a psychic/medium

While on the subject did anyone see 'the exorcism of emily rose' recently - true story and scared the life out of me!!!
- By k92303 Date 11.03.09 20:17 UTC
I've not seen a ghost (thankfully, as that would freak me out) but I have often  felt a presence with me and I often see my deceased relatives in dreams where they appear to pass on messages that they are alright?

I had a message from a medium who confirmed this via my Granddad and I didn't even speak to the medium so I don't know how he did it? It's all a complete mystery to me.

I could even hear my dog barking after she'd been pts? Another dog wanted me to put a photo in a sliver frame and kept popping to mind until I'd done it, she always was a bit hoity toity :-)

I have seen and i definately believe..........
- By philly256 [gb] Date 12.03.09 10:27 UTC
I believe, Ive got a ghost in my house right now......I know who it is  and im not scared.....its my o/h's Grandma and I think sometimes his Grandad visits too......Ive heard her walking up the stairs and into the bedroom where she used to sleep(My friend has heard it too many times and she even went to investigate to see who it was cos she didnt believe me at first) In the corner of the room downstairs where she used to sit I get wafts of her perfume and sometimes smell her ciggarrettes....the house walls have been scrubbed and it has been decorated from top to bottom many times and we dont smoke. Things get moved about on their own, many a time I have put stuff down on the table in what was her front room and its gone missing only to turn up a few days later back on the table.

My dogs sometimes sit transfixed on different spots in the room and then their hackles go up and they start barking.I cant distract them from what they are barking at no matter what i do but they are barking at nothing .
Ive even heard someone telling my youngest dog to "Get Down" and then she comes scurying behind me with her tail down.....theres no one else in the house and there has been no tele or radio on.

Ive aslo had sightings of something in my friends house....but that is not so nice....there is part of her landing that is really evil. Its icy cold(no draughts) and its always that bit darker lit than the other parts of her landing...when you come out of her loo you get the feeling someone is running up behind you and her fella and her have both been shoved in the back on many occasions and there has been no one there.
I havent been shoved yet but i have seen their "ghost" black cat...I even put my hand down to stroke it and it vanished before my eyes.
Black "Ghost " Cats are sent for protection to protect the occupents from Evil spirits so I wouldnt want to ive in her house for all the money in the world.

I have seen two ghosts so I now have to believe!
First one is my grandmother who comes to visit when I'm ill.
No seriously, when I was little she used to look after me when I was ill, so my parents could go to work.
Even now whan I'm grown up she still comes to see me when I'm ill! Most of the time I sense her but I have also seen her few times.
The second one is a ghost of a monk in my friends house.
I did not even know they had a ghost untill I had little bit unpleasant experience in the middle of the night of the priest/monk being in my room.
I went downstairs and started telling them about him(by the morning I thought I must have dreamed it) and everybody went really quiet...
They then told me he has been there before but they got somebody to come and bless the house or something and they have not seen him for years!
The house is hundred of years old and used to be owned by the church and the priests used to live there!

I have also heard my dog that passed away walking around in the house and had our other dog seeing her&licking her lips(like a submissive dog does to the top one)in the spot she used to sleep on! That was very weird to watch :).
I also think I used to see my first dog on walks with us even after she passed to the rainbow bridge.

I don't believe in ghosts but I did have a strange experiance on the Isle of Wight, I was walking our dog on the cliffs near Freshwater bay early in the morning when I saw what looked like a woman dressed in a black cape (similar to the woman in the Scottish Widows ad).  When I got a bit closer the light changed and the "woman" disappeared.  Where she was standing there was a memorial to a boy who had fallen over the cliff (the E.L.M memorial).  I assumed this was just a trick of the light but as we got close to the memorial the dog got spooked and wouldn't go anywhere near it.  I went back the next day an the dog was quite happy to go up to the memorial so I could get a closer look, the previous day had been the anniversary of when the boy fell.

(I still don't believe in ghosts :) )

i will need to sleep with the light on after this!!

Where good walks so does evil and somewhere in between are lost souls.
As a child I clearly saw the wings of an angel enveloping my sister and I've had a few inexplicable encounters with spiritual beings over the years.  Nothing ever frightening thankfully :)
- By newfiedreams Date 13.03.09 11:36 UTC
Exactly right Teri...don't forget GOOD always overcomes evil...but I do think that CD might be haunted!!!;-) See who can spot the ghosts! :-o
- By Teri Date 13.03.09 11:41 UTC

The house we used to live in, I had lived there for over 20 years as a young girl with my Mum and brother had 'strange feelings' sometimes the dogs would stare up the stairs at nothing and sometimes you would hear noise as if someone was in the bedrooms walking around when I was alone in the house but I always made excuses blaming the cats , sometimes doors would bang shut and on occasion the loft cover would be slightly open but we put this down to being the end of a semi and the wind!
I would wake up in the night and have the feeling someone was staring at me , never ever saw anyone but had a feeling ....
Another time my Mum came bouncing into my room woke me up and said why did I shake her awake I swore I hadnt she said she saw the back of me leaving her room ...it wasnt me she had just woke me up!
No-one in the family ever mentioned ghosts I think we all thought something but didnt want to bring it to the fore .

Mum eventually passed away , brother married , I married moved to our own home.

One day an old neighbour of mine rang me and said this is a weird question but the lady who now lives in your old house wants to know 'who lived there before? asked if I knew you , she then said 'had we ever experience strange things or seen a ghost' ....I was shaking by then apparently the woman had 4 children and her kids had seen a boy , and heard children running up and down the stairs in the middle of the night, when her own kids were asleep in bed..
I was so upset by this hubby couldnt understand why I was crying but I felt relieved that after all those years it wasnt my imagination...
In my home now I have never experienced those 'feeling I had in that house'

So in answer to your question 'no ' I have never seen a ghost but have experiences I can never explain'

Roni

OMG this is scaring me

but to answer your question yes i believe in ghosts and have seen them too

my mums new house in the country i seen a old woman my dad has seen her my brother has seen her and my little niece has seen her little niece has also spoke to a man which really scarred me she is insistant that he tells her nasty things she is only 3

my mum hasn't seen the woman but she has seen a mans legs and shoes like old mans shoes and trousers but she isn't afraid
they all seem to get down quite easily too i really dont like to stay in this house at all as when i did my glasses moved along the floor as i tried to sleep (i didnt although i didnt open my eyes i was too afraid too see anything

the woman who appears seems to appear more if there is a problem or if children are about!!

we lived in a house years ago where we found a cubboard boarded up we unboarded it and from that time my mum and my sister used to hear childs foot steps running up and down the stairs in saying that that house was quick frightening giving me the creeps even thinking about it now

so yes i believe and i have seen

I went to see a medium once, she didn't let me tell her my name or anything about myself. She told me lots of things all of which subsequently happened but the really spooky thing was she told me she had someone from the other side in the room but she couldn't work out his name, she was getting William twice but nobody called him William. Before I had time to say anything she worked it out It's William Kenneth Williams but everyone calls him Ken that was my Dad who died when I was 14months old so I never really knew him. It certainly gave me goosebumps but was very comforting and has made me a firm believer in an after life. In terms of ghosts, I used to be a children's nurse, and have seen the ghosts of children who have passed, somewhere in the hospital. I've not been frightened but have been left with a reassuring feeling almost as if they are trying to tell me they are OK.
- By scarlettwynter [gb] Date 18.03.09 12:54 UTC
Years ago I woke up and saw one of my Mum's friends standing at the side of my bed. I was terrified and hid under the covers. In the morning I told my Mum, who thought I was imagining it but later in the day she heard that her friend had died during the night.

Also, my youngest son used to ask me who the lady was that was sitting on his bed.

So yes....I do believe.
