how long can sperm stay alive once the bitch been mated i thought it was 3 days.
- By Dill [gb] Date 12.03.09 15:45 UTC
Quoting the Book of the Bitch,  "Sperm from a really fit stud dog can remain viable inside the bitch for about 3 days and even up to 7 days"

Hope this helps :)

so she could be a week behind instead of 6 week she could be 5 to 5 1/2 week
she had a scann didnt see any puppies she dosnt have phtoms but pink boos measures her last week round waist and under the rib cage has got biggers this weeks this swd are a nightmare

She could be hiding them up under her ribs too ;)

I've never had mine scanned, from talking to friends/other breeders and from reading threads on CD I feel it would just complicate things and make me more unsure of my own experience and intuition ;)

I do use a stethoscope tho, and by the last 2 weeks I know how many.

the only reason i scann her beacuse of crufts,

i went to vets to weight her then the next thing on the table being scann that friends for you in my vets ,

i never scan any of the other bitch that had puppies and none have miss either,

we had a good mating of 1 hour 5 min tie, on day 14,as the test from idexx stated she wasnt realy on day 8 or day 11 but went by her and my male dog on day 14.in the pass she would be back with my males dogs bye day 19 or 20.

her mum was mated on day 15/16 on her first litter 14 on her second litter each time 5 puppies.

Bloomin' vets can't leave well alone LOL  Bet they thought they were doing you a favour ;)

If she hadn't been scanned, what would your experience and instinct be telling you??  I'm sure you know deep down ;)  You probably have more experience than the vet in this matter ;)

i think i have but this breed is quite different to my other breed, when in whelp they dont go off their food stillthe nomal things untill the every end one big push in a hour then there a puppy,

well just have to wait an see luck i had abc tablets just case of any thing she happy eat and nicking food of the fcr runniing around with a ball in her mouth, wnts to out for walks.

so she could be 6 1/2 or 5 to 5 1/2 weeks.just depending

scan on 35 days from mating or it could have been 32 or 29 depending on the sperm 3 to 7 days they can live up to in a bitch,

LOL

They sound so much like my Bedlies.  No slowing down, no panting, no nesting, no digging.  Just a very fat tum at the end, out for a run, then home for a sleep and then 'that look' and they come and 'tell' me LOL  (as if I wasn't already watching like a hawk! )  and it's a bit of rippling, a heave then a pup
