For those breeders who listen to foetal heartbeats with a stethescope, how soon can you detect them?

Someone asked and I can't remember.

im waiting for my stethscope to come ..mum only has 9days to go ..i hope it comes befor the pups do lol lol ....

Hi Toolz,

In my breed I would expect to start hearing them in the last 2 weeks but it does depend on how and where the pups are lying as well ;)

They sound like little watches ;)

Except when contractions start and then I think they sound like a fast drum roll :-)

Thanks chaps I will tell her, I had in my mind week 7 but somehow get persuaded that she should hear them earlier.

Tried it on my girl and couldn't hear a thing!!

I have a small breed and can detect from day 40. HTHs  :-)
