My black lab is now nearly 12 years old, and I have been advised to switch to `Senior' food products. She has always had Winalot mixer with tinned food; I have now bought `Senior' tinned food and a large bag of Pedigree Senior 8+ Complete (not being able to find senior mixer in my local pet supermarket).
I wanted to continue with the new tins and simply change the biscuit side from Winalot to Pedigree, but this is seems to be a much denser food. How much of the Pedigree should I give her either on a comparable weight for weight basis - for example, if she had had 1000 grams of Winalot per day, how many grams of the Pedigree should she now have? Or is it easier to say if she had a mugfull of Winalot per day, should she have a similar volume of the Pedigree? (Not that either of these is right - the amounts are just for comparison purposes.)
Hi mollie , i was under the impresion tinned dog foods where complete ..do you add mixer so you dont need as much meat ?...when useing a new food give what you was and cut back if she starts to put waight on and add more if she starts to loose ..thats what id do :) xx
