So, we got a but of a 'jakey' hanging about in the close for a while being worrying but this was curtailed by Tio's 1am toilet excursion. this combined with the general studenty yuck of our flat resulted that we had been pottering about looking for a flat for a wee while.

then a couple of weeks ago i took tio to the toilet in our buildings garden and felt something sticking into my (thankfully thick soled) shoe. i glance down and spot a used syringe :EEK: sticking out of my shoe!!!!!

thats it!

nothing doing though, we saw a house but it was tiny (like couldn't fit Tio in our bedroom with us tiny) with mean landlords.

i'm at the parents this week helping them pack as they are looking to move to a rental place in the town following dads heartattack (:() and last night they got a call about a place that they didn't feel was right for them but sounded interesting to me.

and we have miraculously arranged a flat this evening!!! for not terribly much more a month we are now going to be living in a 3 bedroom, 2 bathroom, stunning sitting room with amazing views, spiral staircased property with a private residents park (including dog poo bin for the boyo). i'm stunned, its just gorgeous. i think i must be dreaming.

so the record of this post will hopefully prove i'm not...

i honestly think i am dreaming. its more than we had intended to spend but the price for the property is so so cheap we couldn;t say no. the only concern i have is tio on the stairs but i think just with some quiet practise it will be fine. just so excited!! we're moving 1st of may

Having had to move because of neighbour problems in the past I can only sympathise with you for all the worry recently. I now live in a 3 bedroom bungalow with a large garden which my dogs love :-) I always believe in good things come to those who wait. Good luck in your new home. :-)

Wow, sounds amazing. Especially the staircase, people laugh at me because i LOVE beautiful staircases. A spiral staircase sounds magnificant.

Congratulations, I'm sure you'll be very happy in your new abode.  I know all too well the stress and heartache living with awful neighbours can bring (ours threw fireworks at the dogs, and left hypodermic needles at my back gate).  It took a while but we're now out in the sticks, no neighbours, and an acre of playground for the dogs - as another posted said 'good things come to those who wait'.  I don't envy you 'move day' though.............that's one thing I'd rather not do again!!

Good idea to get out of a neighbourhood which you cant even take your Tio out to the yard because of used needles laying around (thank goodness for your shoes, and that you werent wearing slippers, or that it didnt get into Tios paws!!)

the thing is when i first moved in (3.5 years ago) the area was terrific, the west end generally is and my street was particularly family oriented but i don;t know whats happening recently with it.

its in the converted jute mill right behind the wellgate with the turrets (you might remember it being done about 8 years ago?)

the nearest big excersize park would probably be baxter park but tio only gets lead walks anyway due to his leg. if that improves with less stairs liam will probably take him down to the parks by the river or magdalen green as they both love it down there.

i never noticed before but the buildings got its own private park, not big but plenty for toileting the boy and i saw another dog last night. its gorgeous, picnic tables, a kids area (obviously not for tio toileting) and an open grass bit.

the flat looks out right over the river but is at an angle so no one can see in.

lol not sure you'd want to move but you are more than welcome to visit, we'll have the space! i'll do blackpudding for breakfast

They are nice flats, one of my friends lived in one for a while when she was a student - lovely!

You've got the park near where the old DRI (Now flats) used to be, can't remember it's name now!  Its been over 12 years since I lived in Dundee!

yes i hate moving but we're thinking of hiring a man with a van to come help. £30 an hour with two guys and we don't have much big stuff to go. that in addition to my burly other half and his boy chums should be fine :)
