Topic Dog Boards / General / NFC at Agility Shows

Is it free?

I found one schedule ages ago and on the entry form it said NFC entries were free. Since then I've looked at a few schedules and although they say NFC dogs are allowed the entry form makes no mention of it (except the standard paragraph of instructions). So is NFC usually free at agility shows, do you enter them and pay for 1 class/run (whichever is applicable!) or does it vary and I need to get in touch with the secretaries and ask?

And do they allow unlimited NFC dogs? ie I know if you're competing the show often fills up before the closing date, but would I be ok to send off the entry just before the closing date (not yet sure what dogs I'll have!) and it'll definitely be accepted if all I'm entering is NFC dogs?

I'm trying to expose them to the atmosphere as much as possible before they start competing!

In my very limited experience of agility shows & schedules there is no limit to the number of dogs nfc & they are free (wish the same could be said for breed shows!)  Will ask around for you & post if I get a sensible answer.

there is no charge for NFC and you can enter unlimited dogs NFC.  I wouldnt have thought it would matter if send your entry off close to the closing date as the numbers are usually limited due to classes so if you are NFC it shouldnt matter.

Fantastic, thanks both of you :-D I thought it sounded as if they were free but as you say maddog, used to breed shows where it's all set out on the entry form and you have to pay, so it threw me!

I often just go to watch agility shows, I take my dogs and I never bother entering them NFC. With the single exception of the SKC where entry passes are required agility shows tend to be very relaxed. Cars come and go with dogs and nobody ever asks if you have entered or how many dogs you have entered :-)

This is true, I know they have cracked down at Newbury showground though because of problems with "travelling folk" !!
