I am looking for a 25th Wedding anniversary present for my friend.  She has already said she doesn't want anything silver as she hates polishing it (lol), she isn't into ornaments and doesn't drink very much.

Can anyone think of anything because I am stuck?  Also unfortunately I am on a tight budget (wish I wasn't but I am).

I know you lot are so imaginative I thought I would ask you.

Thanks

although she doesn't drink much there are some lovely commemorative bottles out there.  I bought my parents a 25 year old bottle of whisky on their silver anniversary and the cheaper option is a personalised bottle http://www.thefamousgrouse.com/labelmaker.asp that you can put your friends names and a message on.

My parent's have a friend who is an artist and for their 25th a few years ago he painted a lovely picture for them....it was of a silverfish on a champagne cork!!

It's a really lovely picture, and a lovely thought :)

You can get a rose plant called 'Silver Anniversary'. That in a lovely garden pot would make a nice present.

For my parents' 25th anniversary I wrapped up my newborn daughter in a shawl and then Bacofoil :-D (We were soo strapped for cash lol)

But for you I think that would be above and beyond the call of duty ;)

I also don't like ornaments,
I was given a Silver-plated Carriage Clock for my 25th Wedding Anniversary, it has pride of place on my mantelpiece :)

You would have loads of choice as regards price too ;)

Just a selection on amazon
Carriage Clocks

And there are loads on ebay - sitting on my hands now :-p

Have you got lots of photos of the 2 of them, or could you get hold of some through family?  I always think a really nice photo album filled with pictures of them, with their friends and loved ones, highlighting special events over the past 25 years makes for a memorable gift.  I know digital pictures are great but there's just something about a good old fashioned photo album.  It'll probably be quite time-consuming but quite reasonable money wise.

When my Mum & Dad got to 50 years I made up photo albums of them courting, children, grand children, friends, relatives. At the party there were queues of people reliving old times, do they have kids that you can get involved to delve out the old photo's? I had all 5 grandchildren and we spread them all over the floor and had a laugh with them so they all had an input to the gift and the albums were only cheapies but the memories were priceless they were so chuffed!!! So photo's of wedding and 25th anniversary would be good in a shared frame?
