I have a houseful, so loads of different feeds! I feed half dry, half wet. Border Collie gets Burgess sensitive and tinned Chappie. 2 Beardies get tinned butcher's tripe, and I've gradually changed them over to the same dry as BC. Toy Poodle gets Hill's ID. Chi's and Yorkies get Royal Canin mini and tinned butchers tripe. I do give odds and ends like white fish, pilchards etc

forgot to say they have to have some form of meat mixed in with it :)
My two toy poodles have natures menu in tins and also Royal Canin mini sensible in their Kongs as they eat mainly the wet food and the older one of the two is very fussy.

I always fed Arden Grange but last year switched 6 dogs onto a Raw Meaty Bones diet and haven't looked back since - i've seen a huge improvement in coat, shape and general condition in the dogs. Also alot less poo to pick up lol!

All adults on Vitalin Crown Working, puppy is on Pro-Plan. All have extras in the form of veggies, fish & chicken. They also have any left-overs from my plate.
2 BC boys - Genesis to be shortly swopped over to CSJ CP21
1 BC girlie - natures harvest
All have Wainwrights tinned chicken & rice wet food for brekkie

My two are having complete for breakfast. At the moment it's Beta, they normally have Skinners but have gone off it lately and tinned Chappie for tea. They have sardines once or twice a week as well. I also give them chicken wings at lunchtime as a little treat.
Yesterday they found a dead deer.........so it was a bellyfull of Vension, bones and all!!!

Arden Grange, plus extras, chicken wings, fish, raw bones, eggs, (not all at once) :-)
all 4 that are here are on Arden Grange
Lil and Boo - Light food
Ailsa - Lamb and Rice
Mollie - Senior
and i have a bag of Puppy/Junior for when my new pup 'Freddy' arrives in may
they also get mixed veg , fish , chicken , pasta , rice and supplements
burns lamb and rice (canine alert) cos it's vat free and naturediet lamb or butchers tripe - chicken and tripe for tea. (burns for brekkie on its own) I have 2 cockers

Tried quite a few in the past, but we seemed to have found what suits both girls.
JWB turkey and veg complete......mixed with wainwrights wet.....JWB pouch wet.....or nature harvest.

My Cavaliers have been on Origen 6 fish since December and seem to be doing very well on it. Edited to add - they get chicken wings a couple of times a week and an egg every now and then too.

He was on Gusto but changed last year to JWB with brilliant results.

Feed them on Orijen plus some raw food, they seem to do very well on it.

Mainly raw, sometimes Naturediet/Natures Harvest.

aren grange plus raw twice a day

Fish 4 Dogs, both varieties. Prior to that Orijen (fish).

JWB fish for my three, topped up with egg, or veg or fish!! they do very well. No digestive problems. Nice shiny coats etc. I keep seeing the chicken wings mentioned. Havent plucked up the courage to give them those. always taught as a kid not to give animals chicken bones cos they splinter, but obviously not the case as so many of you do so.

Cooked chicken bones splinter, raw are soft so you don't get the same problems. Give them a try I'm sure you'll be surprised at how much they're enjoyed once they get the hang of eating them. I have 3 rotties and my eldest girl and boy love chicken wings - the first time Dave had one it took him about 15 mins to eat it, now it's more like 15 secs. My middle girl guards hers - I don't think she likes the texture, but equally so doesn't want the others to have it either.
As to what food - used to feed them all Trophy (large breed), but my eldest girl started to turn her nose up at is, so we're now on AG chicken and rice large breed. They love it, although there does seem to be more "waste" than on the trophy.

Raw meaty bones, dogs love it and both very healthy wish I had known about natural feeding with previous dogs.

i tried pro plan which he wouldn't eat thenn i had tio on JWD but he was being sick all the time on it! so switched to wainwrights turkey and rice which he barely ate, then tried the salmon which he likes but for practicality reasons trying him with autarky which he seem to like.
he also gets raw meat/tripe, sardines, eggs etc

Arden Grange for breakfast. Once in a while JWB wet food. Every day extras are raw veg and some kind of dog treat I buy. Evening meal is always cooked "people food" - some kind of meat or fish, and generally a small amount of potato or rice to go with it.

After Naturediet changed their recipe's tried raw, now all three greyhounds raw fed, best thing I have ever done for my dogs,
Dave.

Mainly Burns dried food but JWB if I run out. I feed this in the mornings for convenience and to give them something crunchy. Arden Grange treats and sometimes Burns Kelties as a Bonio substitute. In the evenings, Naturediet mostly and sometimes Arden Grange Partners tinned food with added veg. I microwave those little veg sachets and they share those. I also give them dentastix but am looking for additive free alternatives.

Thanks Tadsy. Will have to have a try (chicken wings) I'm sure they will love them. I have the same problem with one of my girls, the guarding thing. Drives the other two mad when they have finished theirs and she still has her thing left!!

All mine are on CSJ - That'll Do! with raw chicken mince added about once a week and some cheese or yoghurt occasionally. All doing extremely well on this, coats excellent, teeth clean, weight just right and plenty of muscle.
I would love to feed a RMB diet but don't have the freezer space :(
Royal canin, tripe, chicken
Taste of the wild (pacific stream)
Mine are on Wainwrights Salmon and Potato dry, (my terrier has skin allergies) and I mix with tinned pink salmon recommended by our veterinary dermatologist. My terrier hates his food dry, water added made no difference he likes his food wet hence the tinned salmon.

A brand new food called Natural Canine Feast, 45% chicken, no additives or preservatives, and a proven anti parasite (wormer) added, so you never have to worm your dogs again, all ours are eating it great.

hiya everyone,i have an 11months old golden lab girlie.i started feeding her bakers complete when she'd graduated from the mushy stuff.she took to it well but wouldn,t touch any other brand, then went off it all together.now i'm feeding her half dry and half wet,but she's now sorting out the dry stuff and leaving it.i've taken to scattering it onto the lawn and she will sniff it out and eat it then.is all this normal behaviour?we've had crossbreeds before, buster lived to 19 years and bonnie to 10,they would eat anything and were really robust.i also give poppy trets of apple, carrot(both raw),whole egg and milk and the usual doggy treats and a good chewing bone.i also add a little olive oil to here evening meal.she's a healthy size and the proper shape for her breed.also she won't let us cut her nails though she's never had a bad experience over it and she loves being bathed and brushed.thanks for any tips you can give me to bring her up prope

I would look at a different dried if you want to continue using dried food or as you give her such good healthy treats why not consider 100% raw. Lots of info on here about raw. I know I am biased but as your dog enjoys the meat and her treats I would seriously think about it.

Raw is the way to go. Dog will love it and so will you with less health problems.

thanks for your suggestions gaby and furriefriends.i think i am a bit too conscious that poppy is a pedigree and am worried that i,m not up to the job!sometimes love isn't enough and technique comes into play if she's to be well broght up and happy.i'm so aware that she is so intelligent and am afraid she will get bored.my health has not been good and i can't walk her as much as she deserves.every week though we take her in the car(my daughter's)to the seaside or a country park for a massive run.she has such a great time and is always very relaxed afterwards.what games can i set up for her in the house and garden to keep her stimulated,i already put treats in plastic bottles for her to chew and find and put things she likes in hiding places at home and in the garden.are there any herbal medications i can give to relax her so that i can get her nails clipped at home?xlove poppity

from poppity, sorry i forgot to ask gaby and furriefriends how do you prepare the raw meat,do you use frozen too or have to buy every couple of days, how much would i give to a lab of nearly a year?does the poop come out much different from a combination diet?can't wait to get on with it now.do i still add the cooked greens and veg she has now?x
