I have a puppy that looks as though she might not get complete pigment. I have heard many people talking about giving the pup kelp to help darken pigment but I ask this: If she is lacking pigment, there basically is no pigment to darken, right? I mean I can understand if the dog has a little light pigment on it's nose and the nose is completely filled in. My puppy's nose is NOT completely filled in. Can someone PLEASE give me an estimated age when I should be concerned that this pup may never get her pigment? She is very young so there is hope yet... She is blue in color and most of my other blue dogs had pigment that sort of just faded in from a completely pink nose to a dark blue/black nose. This pup has specles of pigment that look like they are not connecting and I see no improvement even after a week. I saw previous posts but no one ever answered the question of when is it pretty much a lost cause... Please help!!! Thanks in advance, Kelly

How old is the pup, if very young there is time for the spots to fill in. Unfortunately blues are very hard to get good pigment in as they are a genetic throwback. Kelp does help and i dont know why. What colour are her nails and the eye rim?

The puppy is 6 weeks old. Her nails are pink as she has a lot of white markings on her legs. Her eye lids are the dark blue pigment and her lips are turning the normal bluish color that is seen in the Blue/blue fawn dogs. She has pigment on her toes already though... Go figure :-) Her nose pigment is getting very dark though I don't see it spreading at all. Well, say a prayer that it does! Thanks for your reply.
