Does anyone use one of these?

I'm trying to lose weight and have been using mine since Monday.  The second day I used it, it told me I'd lost 2 lb, the next day it said I'd gained 2 lb and then yesterday it said I'd gained 3 lb.  I honestly don't think that I've gained 5 lb in two days (we don't have scales).  I've been wearing the same clothes each time.

Has anyone else found this or is it possible I have really put on 5 lb in two days? :(

We've found the same problems, but it is just a games console, a toy, so don't take it seriously :-)

Your weight flactuates by 2.2lbs during a day on average.  Weighing yourself every day is not reccommended by experts (even if the wii fit says so!)  The Wii fit isn't great for loosing weight.  Most of the exercises are to tone muscles.  We have had one two weeks now and my weight chart is going up and down (although my fitness age has come from 35 to 20!)

I use the wii fit as abit of fun muscle toning while going to the gym aswell (except illness for two weeks has stopped me going to the gym)

But yes you could have put on 5 lbs in two day.  what sort of foods have you eaten?  have you snaked much, did you weigh yourself at different times, before/after meals?  So many factors to consider!

I went up 5 lbs last weekend but I put that down to excess water retention by my body!  (I can use that excuse!, the men can't ;) )

I have found the scales within the wii fit to be very accurate and match our bathroom scales.

yes happens to us, gain, loose in a matter of days, take it all with a pinch of salt, and enjoy the games. we love ours. When you do better and unlock some other games they are great

The best time to weigh yourself is first thing in the morning after your first wee - when you are 'empty' .
Put the scales on a flat , hard floor surface ie not carpet .

Ahhh yes when you have nothing in you at all....Defiently not after two slices of cold Pizza and a cup of coffee!!! :-D  (thats todays excuse for gaining weight!)

I've had mine for a few months and used it no more than half a dozen times..would rather go to the gym.

The Wi Fit told James Cracknel the olympic rower that he was morbidly obese so i wouldn't take it too seriously either.

I've been mostly doing the aerobic exercises and the step, hoping that this would have an effect.

You don't (well I don't) burn many calories doing the step and running on the spot.  I don't even work up a sweat that much.  Being able to count my clories roughly at the gym I know how hard I have to work to be able to loose afew (normally with 1hr's worth of cardio (Rowing, bike, running/walking at gradient and the steping/skiing thingy) I can burn 500 Calories.  I do alot less on the Wii.

Also you will never notice progress straight away.  I've been going to the gym for 4/5 months now and I can only now start to see the difference it's making to me. :)

In the mean time the Wii fit is VERY fun and I love doing the yoga and muscle stretches as I've not done much like them before but always wanted to, just never known how to start inside the home :) :-D

Thanks everyone.

At the moment I don't really have the time or the finances to go to a gym, having just gone down to a four day week so that I can spend more time with my toddler.  I was hoping that his was a way to do some exercise, as I've done absolutely none in ages.

Last night I did about 45 minutes of step and did feel like I'd done something.

However, I like the Wii Fit today, it told me last night I'd lost 6 lb!  :)  Tonight it'll probably tell me I've put it all back on, but for now I'm happy!  :)
