I was wondering if anyone knows if you can get canine insulin off the internet with prescription any cheaper than what you would pay at the vet. My doberman has just been diagnosed with diabetis and hopefully the insurance will pay for about a year or £2000 whatever runs out first and i am on income support and may not be able to afford the insulin injections if i cannot get it any cheaper elsewhere.Current dosage is costing £60 a month what with insurance for 2 dogs things are getting extremely tight.
Thanks for your help

If you're on Income support you should be able to get help from the PDSA. I would be very wary about buying from the internet, sometimes all is not as it seems, unless you can get it from someone like Hyperdrug? Maybe it would be cheaper if you get them to fill the prescription for you? I have always found Hyperdrug to be very efficient in answering E-mail queries, processing orders(usually posted that afternoon or next day latest) and give good advice. All the best, Dawn

As long as they cover your area ... they're not completely national.

You can use their practice finder facility to find out if your area is covered.

i used to work in the east glasgow one when i was a student nurse, and they had a list of postcodes on a poster on the wall of all the postcodes that they covered. otherwise, they wouldnt see them. it was quite a large area, half of glasgow, and surrounding areas
