If semen has been stored in uk, does anyone have an approximate idea of the cost involved to use it.Not the charge made by stud dog owner but the storage vet and requirements needed for the bitch. Basically info and costs for the whole procedure.Thanks

You will need serum progesterone blood tests taken from about day 5 @ approx  £35 - £40 /test via your own vet . Number of test varies dependant on how your girl progresses, Cassie wasn't ready for AI until day 22 so we had about 9 tests. Procedure costs for AI is about £250.00.

TC inseminations don't usually need any sedation as bitches seem to tollerate this well, insemination is done 3 - 4 days after ovulation when eggs are ripe and waiting. Forzen semen doesn't live long once defrosted, normal fresh semen will live up to 7 days but frozen semen lives only a few hours to timing is critical. No prior approval from KC is now needed for TC inseminations.
