Just had my Oster clippers serviced as there was a loose hinge but since I got them back, it seems as though there is a faulty electric cable. (If you hold them in a certain position they work but move them slightly and they stop!) This was not a problem before I had them serviced. OH is an electrician and could easily fix the problem if he could only get the casing off to look inside! Anyone got any clues as to how you do this - or do you need a special key/screwdriver? If not I will take them to Crufts as the company has a stand there. Thanks.

I would return them to whoever serviced them. There is generally some sort of warranty on service work done although you would be entitled under statutory obligations anyway I think. If you open it up yourself these things are usually negated.

You can't open them to get inside ;) When this happened with mine I had to have the motor unit replaced as I was told it's all one piece. I've got a much better lead on them now, more flexible and looonger :)
In your position I'd send them back to the person who serviced them and complain - after a service they should work better - not worse!
Thanks Isabel and Dill. I will take them with me on Sat for Company to have another look at.
