Topic Dog Boards / General / Import a puppy from England to Norway
- By ThogerAm [no] Date 14.11.02 18:38 UTC
Hello!

We will next summer try to import a Flat Coat from England, but unsure about the rules and procedures. We will not loose any time with the puppy, so we really hope that there is someway to do this without delay, problems and stress.

Anyone that have ever exported or know anything about this please?

Best Regards

Hin Thoger, you need to check with your own countries goverment department dealing
with animal imports to see what restrictions if any are in effect in Norway.
Just find out what vaccinations the dog needs etc. There are no export resrictions but if it travells through other countries then find out what they might need.

This should help you fulfill all necessary requirements. :)
UK -> Norway is Category 3 = rabies-free country to Norway.

Thanks! does not look to bad! Of some reason it's obvious easier from England to Norway than the other way around :)

Thanks a lot

Have to say, it was a real 'challenge' to find this site. I don't think it wanted to be found :D
It took some serious time and wordplay on different search engines to locate it :) Most of the info on the web was about dog transport either from Japan to Norway: Norway to UK: or USA to Norway   :) :D

It's really worth the effort if it helps you out :) :D )
good luck when it comes time for you to have your puppy :)

I did find out while doing research for your request, to both hubby and my surprise, that Iceland allows ONLY ONE dog per family to be brought into the country. We never could have made that choice between our two dogs :( So Iceland has been permanently scrapped for future assignment listings. Too bad, it seems a nice place to visit for a year's tour :(

Hi, on a slightly related subject, we have been trying to send a flat-coat from England to Sweden recently, the import details at the other end are no problem, but what a nightmare getting arilines/shippers to quote to take him. When he came to the UK he flew with Finnair, no problems. However, he has grown a little, and checking with regulations, the size crate he will need now exced the maximum allowed in Finnair holds, so he cant go that way. We then thought we would take him on the Ferry from newcastle (I have had people from Scandinavia collect pups that way) but since the intro of Pet Passports DFDS no longer carry animals! Have had shipping quotes from £650 to £800 - if he could have flown back the way he came in it would have cost about £280!
