Hi, my friend has a litter of  4 toy breed puppies just wanted to ask how much weight the puppies should be gaining. They have nearly all doubled their weight in the first week, they are now into their second week. They have been putting on about an ounce each day in thier first week.

I have a medium size breed and I would be Happy with an ounce a day in the first week with mien, so these are going great guns.

In my experience the rate of gain will increase each week, until about 6 weeks and continue at this rate until about 12 weeks then the rate of gain will slow.
